Internet Shopping Network Partners with Microsoft in a Test Program to
Purchase and Download Software Over the Internet

PALO ALTO, CA-- The Internet Shopping Network (ISN), the leading retailer
on the Internet, today announced that it will be adding some of Microsoft
Corporation's most popular software products to its selection of
downloadable software titles. This means that anyone with access to the
Internet can buy and download any of these products directly over the
network, eliminating shipping charges and delivery delays.

The Microsoft software titles currently offered through ISN's Downloadable
Software Division, which was announced by ISN at the '96 Winter Consumer
Electronics Show on Jan. 5, include: Creative Writer for Mac and Windows;
Excel for Windows; Fine Artist for Mac and Windows; Golf Championship
Course (Banff Springs, Mauna Kea, and Pinehurst); PowerPoint and
PowerPoint upgrades for Windows; Schedule + V7.0 32-Bit for Windows 95;
upgrades for Word and Excel for Windows; Word for Windows 95; Windows
Entertainment Pack; and Works for Windows 95.

"We are very pleased to be offering Microsoft products in the Downloadable
Software Division of ISN's online computer store," said Jill Paley,
manager of software distribution for ISN. "By making the world's most
popular software programs readily available, we will encourage thousands
of people who have never downloaded software before to experience the ease
and convenience of buying and downloading software online."

"We are excited to see ISN bringing electronic downloading of our software
products to their customers" said Johan Liedgren, director of channel
policies at Microsoft. "Microsoft is serious about making the Internet a
great distribution platform. Using technology to offer the customer faster
and more efficient delivery is great. What is even better is that on-line
distribution offers value-added information not available in any other
channel. The breadth of product information available through ISN's
Downloadable Software Division and the ability to immediately purchase and
run software are examples of such added value."

Added Bill Rollinson, ISN's vice president of marketing, "ISN expects
electronic software delivery to be the wave of the future. It's one of the
best and most immediate examples of how the Internet can make life easier.
No need to get in a car and drive to a computer store or other outlet --
users can just press the 'buy' button and have new software on their
computer in minutes, and at any time of the night or day."

Microsoft's software products can be found on ISN's server
(http://www.internet.net) in the Computer Goods section, under
"Downloadable Software." Products are competitively priced from $17.99 to
$279.95, and ISN provides detailed information on each package, including
product description, system requirements, Microsoft contact information,
and even access to product reviews in popular computer publications like
InfoWorld.

ISN offers its members online technical assistance if a member experiences
any type of problem during software downloads. ISN works closely with its
software publishers to ensure that customers are taken care of should
there be any technical questions pertaining to the downloaded software
title.

ISN also offers packaged Microsoft products along with 25,000 other
computer hardware and software titles.

The Internet Shopping Network, a division of the billion-dollar television
retailer Home Shopping Network, Inc., is the first large-scale enterprise
to embrace the Internet as a new medium for conducting commerce worldwide.
Launched in June 1993, ISN today offers more than 25,000 computer products
from companies such as Lotus, Symantec and Microsoft; flowers from FTD;
steak and lobster from Omaha Steaks International; gift items from
Hammacher-Schlemmer; and other merchandise.

Shoppers gain access to ISN through the World Wide Web (WWW). ISN's URL
address is http://www.internet.net. The email address is
info@internet.net. ISN can be reached by phone at 1-800-677-SHOP, or by
