Interplay Gears up for First TSR, Inc. Licensed Title

INTERPLAY SECURES CELEBRITIES FOR LAUNCH OF DESCENT TO FRANCHISE

Febuary 14, 1996 - Irvine, California -- Interplay Productions announced
today the names of the celebrities who will be featured in several
commercials surrounding the launch of the company's sequel to its
award-winning title Descent. Set to tout the awesome virtues of the
company's hot property are Rodney Dangerfield, the renowned comedian who
never seems to get any respect; Ann B. Davis, whom the twenty and
thirty-something generations will recognize as Alice from "The Brady
Bunch"; Jim Harbough, quarterback for the Indiana Colts; and Jenny
McCarthy, star of MTV's "Singled Out." In addition to this talent pool,
Interplay has also retained the services of an award-winning
post-production company whose credits read like a "Who's Who" of the
commercial production industry.

"We've pulled out all the stops to make sure the word of mouth gets out
about how hot this title is and will continue to be," said Trish Wright,
vice president of marketing for Interplay. "This is the last step in a
long list of marketing programs slated to make the launch of these titles
the biggest release Interplay has ever achieved."

Four 15-second commercials will run as solo and back-to-back thirty- second
spots in the nationwide campaign. Networks that will host the spots are
Fox prime-time and ABC, NBC, CBS spot market programming, MTV, the USA
Network, ESPN, TBS and TNT, reaching over 90% of the target audience. The
commercials are different versions of each celebrity intensely involved in
playing the highly-addictive Descent II for the PC and Descent for the
PlayStation.

The goal of the commercial campaign is to draw in a broad range of viewers
and show that the Descent franchise crosses the age barrier and appeals to
the mass market, not just the hard-core gamer. Each spot emphasizes the
"You're Going Down" theme of the campaign. Interplay has retained the
services of Western Branch, an award-winning production house and key
player in the commercial industry. Personnel working on the commercials
include Christopher Nibley, director of photography, who has many years of
experience in feature films and top of the line commercials. His most
recent credits include work with Timothy Burton and past work with such
notables as Bob Hope and Robert Stack. Directing the effort is Interplay's
Martin Denning, who is the recent winner of the 1995 New York Film
Festival Silver Medal and the recipient of the Premier TV Award in
England. Creating the campaign is Louis London Agency based out of St.
Louis, Missouri. Descent, the only first-person game with full 360-degree
movement, will finally be available March 13th for this hot new console
system. Descent II is the hot 8-player networkable sequel that expands the
Descent world with outstanding new features and intense gameplay.
Developed by Parallax Software, both titles rock with a pulse-pounding
industrial score.
