INTERPLAY DOMINATES INTERNET WITH THE HOTTEST GAMES IN THE WORLD!!

(Descent and Descent II dominate top spots on Internet Top 100 Games
List!!)

Irvine, California -- Interplay Productions' Descent II has been burning up
the Internet since its release just four weeks ago when the demo version
of the hottest sequel to date was uploaded to the Internet for world-wide
distribution. Within the first week of its release, Descent II
commandeered the "Internet Top 100 Games List" when it bulleted its way to
the top of the chart to secure the #1 position. Now in its fourth week as
the #1 demo in the world, it is followed by the original title, Descent,
which has thwarted its competition's ambitions by clinching the #2
position for the last 29 weeks.

"In 1995, Descent was the number one game on the Internet for over
six-months," said Trish Wright, Interplay's vice president of marketing.
"With the release of Descent II we are right back where we left off. And
being number one on this list is what we really care most about as it
comes directly from the people who we makes these games for -- gamers.
That's the Interplay way. By gamers. For gamers."

Descent II, developed by Parallax Software, expands the Descent world with
new outstanding features and gameplay. Thirty new levels take the player
through six worlds, including Water, Fire, Ice and the Alien Base. Players
will battle 30-new highly-intelligent stealth robot enemies that will
adjust to the player's strategy, hunting them down in the ultimate
challenge. Added fire power is supplied to the player with
ultra-destructive weapons, from the deadly Helix Cannon to the virulent
Level 6 lasers. The player will be aided by a robotic ally through the
twisting, turning worlds that make up Descent II, while they attempt to
thwart the insidious thief bot from ransacking their supply of armaments.

Descent, the only first-person game with full 360-degree movement, will
finally be available for console gamers with the scheduled March 13th
PlayStation release. Descent for the PlayStation has CD-quality audio
featuring music by recording artists Type O Negative and "Ogre" of Skinny
Puppy. Five new Anarchy Levels for two-player head-to- head and
cooperative gaming pump up the intensity of Descent for the PlayStation.
Previously unseen in any other version of Descent, the PlayStation version
features a unique light-source shading technique called "radiosity."

As they did with the original, gamers are heralding this excellent
action-packed game as the best they have ever played. In addition to a
post on the alt.games.descent newsgroup listing the top 100
characteristics of a true Descent player, Internet gamers have these
things to say:

* "All I can say is: DESCENT 3! ... and you wouldn't happen to
  have a release date handy? :) :)"
* "Thank you for your time and the best game in the world!"
* "D2 rules!!! Doom is obsolete!!"
* "Games of D2 when everyone has a fast connection are really
  awesome!!"
* "There is no comparison. I have played both extensively. Doom is
  good. Descent is better."
* "Descent is my most favorite game [sic] ... I have had 100+ fully
registered games ... Descent has remained my favorite long after
the newness wore off ... I am looking forward to Descent 2 very
  much!"
* "Descent is a true classic: it keep[s] you coming back for more
  again and again."
* "We play Descent 1& 2 every day over the LAN at work during our
  lunch hour."
* "BLOODY GOOD GAME!"
