SOFTBANK Expos Launches Interop DotCom Internet Event in Las Vegas

New Internet Event to Run in Parallel with NetWorld+Interop

FOSTER CITY, CA--(FEBRUARY 13, 1996) SOFTBANK Exposition and Conference
Company today announced its plans to launch Interop DotCom, an event for
Internet business professionals, April 2-4, 1996 in Las Vegas. Interop
DotCom Las Vegas will serve a professional audience of Internet business
managers, entrepreneurs, developers and technical specialists. Interop
DotCom will deliver conferences and other educational opportunities, as
well as exhibits from the leading vendors of Internet-related products, to
its highly qualified audience. Interop DotCom Las Vegas is the first of
seven worldwide events scheduled for 1996.

"The concerns and requirements for professional business users of the
Internet differ from those of enthusiasts and casual users," said William
Lohse, President of SOFTBANK Expos. "Internet business professionals need
to maximize Internet utilization as a competitive imperative. With so much
information about the Internet available today, it is amazing how little
information is being prepared for Internet business professionals. They
need information which will help them build solutions today and develop
plans for the future. We've created Interop DotCom to meet these needs
during this time of rapid change."

Each Interop DotCom will run in parallel with NetWorld+Interop, but will be
a distinct event with its own activities and promotions. NetWorld+Interop,
the Networking Summit, is the world's leading internetworking and
interoperability exhibition and conference.

"Interop was the original Internet show as the infrastructure was being
built. Today the Internet revolution has created a need for a separate
event focused on the Internet-based business applications and services, in
addition to NetWorld+Interop which continues to focus primarily on network
hardware and software infrastructure. By keeping Interop DotCom separate
from, but adjacent to, NetWorld+Interop each show will naturally reflect
the characteristics and constituencies of the respective markets they
serve," explained Mike Millikin, Senior Vice President of Interop. "We
will also facilitate the synergy that exists between corporate networks
and the Internet, assisting attendees and exhibitors who are interested in
each targeted market."

Interop DotCom will be held in the Las Vegas Hilton April 2-4, with
exhibitions from a select group of leading and innovative Internet
vendors, combined with demonstrations of the latest Internet products at
the DotCom Demos. Space has been limited to ensure a focus on business
Internet development and utilization. Potential exhibitors are invited to
apply to participate. Exhibition space will be offered to vendors who
represent industry leadership, innovation or relevance to business
Internet applications. In addition, the booths have a unique design and
construction, enabling vendors and attendees to truly focus on technology
and products.

The DotCom Demos are a succession of demonstrations to take place in a
theater on the show floor and featuring the latest and most significant
Internet products. All Interop DotCom exhibitors will have an opportunity
to demonstrate their products at the DotCom Demos.

"The DotCom Demos have been designed to provide as much in-depth
information as possible in the most efficient way," said Millikin. "They
highlight the incredible rate of Internet product development and will
serve key business buyers as well as press, industry analysts and the
venture capital community."

Applications for exhibit space are available by calling Mary Arlotto, Vice
President of Sales, at (415) 578-6935. Due to limited space availability,
interested companies are encouraged to submit their applications by
Wednesday, February 20th.

Other Interop DotCom events will be launched around the world throughout
the year. Events will be introduced in London, Sydney, Frankfurt, Tokyo,
Atlanta and Paris in 1996, though the show name may vary by location.

NetWorld+Interop is a comprehensive networking event that offers a
combination of conferences, tutorials, workshops, exhibits and interactive
technology demonstrations. Launched in Las Vegas in 1994, NetWorld+Interop
also produces events in London, Sydney, Frankfurt, Tokyo, Atlanta, Paris
and, in 1997, Singapore. Recognized as The Networking Summit, these events
address the business, engineering and product application issues of the
Internet and the networking industry. They are the industry's premier
events-where attendees come to experience new and emerging networking
technologies before making critical purchasing decisions. At the
NetWorld+Interop web site (http://www.interop.com), attendees can research
the latest in exhibitor product information, technology conference
offerings, show events and year-round NetWorld+Interop information.

SOFTBANK Expos presents 21st century technology events. Its shows include
NetWorld+Interop, Seybold Seminars, Windows Solutions, ComputerMania,
Interactive 96, Support Services and Computer Training & Support. The
events begin with the best available educational conferences which attract
the brightest professionals in the technology community. The interactive
trade show floor is a professionally enriching experience for the
qualified attendees who visit the exhibitors of the industry's key
players. The industry education opportunities are extended year- round
with online events and a collection of focused newsletters. Its early lead
makes SOFTBANK Expos the world's number one Internet- related event
company.
