SFPD Homicide Wins MILIA Award at Cannes

CANNES, France -- February 13, 1996 -- Grolier Interactive, the Danbury,
Connecticut-based publisher of multimedia titles today announced its
CD-ROM murder-mystery title, SFPD Homicide Case File: The Body in the Bay,
won the New Line Cinema/Havas Prize of the Professionals at the
prestigious MILIA D'Or awards. The presentation was made as part of the
third annual MILIA International Publishing and New Media Market in
Cannes, France, Sunday night, February 11, 1996.

The Prize of the Professionals is based on a popular vote of MILIA
exhibitors and attendees who could view the title throughout the first
three days of the show. The Grolier Interactive title was chosen over
Sierra-on-Line's Phantasmagoria and entries from Microsoft, Dorling
Kindersley, Humongous Entertainment, McMillan Digital/NBC Digital and
other prominent multimedia publishers.

The MILIA award was accepted during the presentation ceremony held at the
Palais Des Festivals in Cannes by Paul Drexler and Julie Marsh of San
Francisco-based InterWorks, the company that developed SFPD Homicide Case
File: The Body in the Bay for Grolier Interactive.

"We believe the appeal of multimedia lies in good solid storytelling and
outstanding play value combined with a great sense of aesthetics," says
John McIlvaine, vice president of sales and marketing, Grolier
Interactive. "SFPD Homicide combines all of these elements with the
authenticity of a game based on a real crime committed many years ago in
San Francisco. We congratulate our partner, InterWorks, for its
achievement."

SFPD Homicide Case File: The Body in the Bay challenges the player to take
on the role of a detective to find the real killer in this murder-mystery.
The player investigates the scene of the crime and is able to gather
testimony from witnesses and suspects and view maps of San Francisco,
hidden evidence, lab tests, missing persons logs and morgue reports.
Against a ticking clock, the player must work within a virtual two-week

movies, sound, original music, photos and dramatic true-to-life
testimony.
