NEW POWER ADAPTOR FOR PCS, LAPTOPS CONVERTS 5-VOLT PCMCIA SLOTS TO 3.3
VOLTS

Greystone Model PC-30 Enables Users Of 5-Volt PCMCIA Computers To Use New
3.3-Volt PCMCIA Cards Without Expensive System Upgrades

Los Gatos, CA -- February 19, 1996 -- Greystone Peripherals, Inc., the
leading supplier of PCMCIA reader/writers and affordable PC Card
accessories, today introduced a new low-cost, easy-to-use PCMCIA slot
voltage adaptor. The Model PC-30 PowerAdaptor is a single-slot Type I
PCMCIA card that plugs directly into the 5-volt PCMCIA slot in laptops,
notebooks or desktop computers and produces a voltage output of 400 mA at
3.3 volts, which enables the computer to accept the newer 3.3-volt PCMCIA
devices.

'As only newer laptop and notebook computer models are built to accept
3.3-volt PC Cards, Greystone's new PowerAdaptor allows computer users with
5-volt PCMCIA slots to take advantage of new low-voltage devices and
cards, and still use their library of 5-volt PC Cards when necessary,'
said John Usher, Greystone's president.

In addition to computer owners, the Model PC-30 PowerAdaptor will also
appeal to OEMs who want to add versatility to their existing 5-volt
systems. Greystone's Model PC-30 is immediately available at a suggested
list price of $79, with OEM volume quantities available as low as $56. The
PowerAdaptor is warranted for 90 days.

Greystone Peripherals designs, manufactures and markets two proprietary
product lines: the CardDock family of reader/writers and accessories for
the PCMCIA market, and the DataFast high-performance hard disk drive
software duplication systems targeted to software manufacturers.

Greystone recently introduced a new low-cost, external Model PA-70 PalmTop
Adaptor for palmtop, notebook and laptop computers. The multi-purpose
Model PA-70 enables portable computers to use devices which require more
power --- such as disk drives --- and also converts PCMCIA-compliant Type
I and Type II card slots to support Type III+ devices. The company also
recently announced a joint effort with Conner Peripherals, San Jose, CA,
that allows Conner's line of 2.5-inch disk drives to be utilized in the
PCMCIA market using Greystone's new DiskDock PCMCIA external hard drive
adaptor.

Greystone Peripherals, Inc., founded in 1992 by industry veterans John
Usher and George Robinson, is located at 130 Knowles Drive, Los Gatos, CA
95030.
