Edify Strengthens Commitment to Microsoft With Support For Internet Server
API

SANTA CLARA, CALIF., -- FEBRUARY 5, 1996 -- Edify, a leading provider of
software for interactive services, today announced that its Electronic
Workforce product will support Microsoft's new Internet Information Server
(IIS). Edify will enable the Electronic Workforce to communicate with
Microsoft's Internet Server Application Programming Interface (ISAPI),
extending the power of the Electronic Workforce to deploy interactive
service applications to organizations running on IIS.

"Edify is committed to supporting all of the emerging standards for
Internet and Intranet computing," said Tom Glassanos, vice president of
marketing at Edify. "Until now we supported only the Netscape platform.
With today's announcement we are enabling the Electronic Workforce to
communicate with the Microsoft ISAPI and offering support for another
leading computing environment. Clients deploying their Web applications
will have access to unique Edify capabilities such as Web/telephony
integration and powerful integration with back-office systems."

Since the release of the Electronic Workforce 4.0 in September 1995, more
than 25 customer organizations have built and deployed interactive service
applications on the Web using Edify's technology. Customers include
American Express, First Union Corporation, Independence Blue Cross, Signet
Bank, Time Warner, Inc., University of California, Los Angeles, and Unisys
Corporation.

The Electronic Workforce Release 4.0 is designed to help companies build
Web applications that provide interactive access to information on
existing corporate systems. The product enables organizations to develop
and deploy fully-integrated Web applications for customers and employees
such as banking, brokerage, commerce, human resources and higher education
services. With the Electronic Workforce, applications can be deployed that
deliver a full range of services via the Web, telephones, fax, pagers,
electronic kiosks and other media.

"Microsoft's Internet Information Server is designed to enable a new
generation of Web applications," said Mark Brown, group manager of
Internet Server evangelism, developer relations group at Microsoft. "We
are excited to work with Edify because we believe the combination of the
Electronic Workforce and the Internet Information Server is especially
beneficial for customers looking to build and deploy truly interactive Web
applications."
