ELECTRONIC ARTS SHIPS NBA LIVE 96 FOR PC CD-ROM

EA SPORTS' New Basketball Title to be Showcased at NBA All-Star Weekend

SAN MATED, Calif., February 8, 1996-Electronic Arts (Nasdaq:ERTS), a
leading global interactive entertainment software company, EA SPORTS
division today announced the shipment of NBA LIVE 96 for PC CD-ROM. The
new five-on-five, full-court action basketball game will also be showcased
at the NBA All-Star Weekend on February 9-11, 1996 in San Antonio, Texas,
in hospitality suites hosted by the National Basketball Association and
Turner Broadcasting.

"NBA Live 96 brings the NBA experience to life, allowing basketball
fanatics to become completely immersed in the game," said Don Transeth,
vice president of marketing, EA SPORTS. "The authenticity and realism of
NBA Live 96 is created through a combination of 3-D animation and the
exploitation of the NBA license delivering real teams, players,
statistics, logos, uniforms, and arenas to the die-hard basketball
consumer. In fact, EA SPORTS is so committed to realism at every level of
the game that Dennis Rodman's hair color changes throughout the NBA Live
96 season."

NBA Live 96 features more than 300 real NBA players as well as 29 NBA
teams. Also featured is complete statistic tracking, photos and interviews
with the players. Game players can create their own players by specifying
height, weight, position, speed, and offensive and defensive strengths
using the "Create a Player" feature. In addition, a free agent option
enables player trades to be made in order to create "dream teams."

NBA Live 96 delivers unmatched gameplay allowing players to select a
high-energy, fast action-oriented game or a slow down pace so they can
play strategic ball utilizing the new on-the-fly playcalling feature that
includes authentic NBA plays. Different modes allow players to choose
exhibition, regular season or playoffs.

Before the action begins, game players are introduced to NBA Live 96
through a dynamic 3D-rendered 360 degree opening sequence called Virtual
Stadium technology. This sequence takes players on a journey from the top
of the stadium for an aerial view of the court followed by a sweep through
the chanting stands then ultimately to center court for tip-off.

Throughout gameplay, Virtual Stadium allows players to get even further
immersed into the realism of the game through NBA Live 96's 16 camera
angles, including a "Slam Cam" rim view and a full court look from the
press box called "Press Cam." There are even views from NBA arena catwalks
highlighting new court logo designs. This exclusive technology combined
with a CD-quality soundtrack, video footage of NBA stars slam dunking,
dishing no-look passes, and launching sweet outside jumpers, and authentic
team chants makes NBA Live 96 an absolutely outrageous hoops experience.

The retail price for NBA Live 96 for PC CD-ROM will range from $50-$60. The
title is also currently available on the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo
Entertainment System.
