DIGITAL SIGNS MULTIMILLION DOLLAR AGREEMENT WITH microCAD

One of North America's Largest VARs to resell Digital's platforms...

MAYNARD, Mass., February 6, 1996, -- Digital Equipment Corporation today
announced that it has signed a multimillion dollar agreement with microCAD
Solutions, Inc., of Santa Anna, California. The company is one of North
America's largest largest value-added resellers (VARs) for software from
Autodesk, Computervision, and Structural Dynamic Research Corp. (SDRC) and
will resell Digital's Personal Workstations, AlphaStation workstations,
and AlphaServer systems as turnkey systems.

"We're excited about our new relationship with Digital," said Nader
Khoshniyati, chief executive officer of microCAD. "We feel the time is
right to partner with Digital. The Alpha line is now complete from top to
bottom and the number of applications available for the platform has grown
significantly.

"But most importantly, Digital's new business model is designed to offer
more support to VARs. Digital's products and business practices combined
with microCAD's expertise in the MCAE/CAD/CAM market should make for a
very profitable relationship for both companies."

Today's announcement is in line with Digital's Systems Business Unit's
selling strategy, which is primarily based on indirect channels. It
includes premier VARs such as microCAD who resell specific applications in
technical markets. The new VAR will help Digital capitalize on the many
sales opportunities for systems with software from Autodesk,
Computervision, and SDRC, all leading suppliers of personal computer,
workstation, and server software for the computer-aided design market.

Digital's Personal Workstations are designed specifically to run the
Windows NT operating system and offer unprecedented workstation
performance at PC prices. Customers can choose from six Intel-based
personal workstations -- the Celebris XL line -- and two RISC-based Alpha
XL systems. And later as their requirements change, customers can upgrade
from an Intel-based system to the Alpha-based system and can use all of
their existing peripherals. Digital's Personal Workstations deliver the
power for demanding application environments.

Digital's full line of powerful 64-bit AlphaStation workstations range in
price from $5,000 to $50,000 and includes the entry-level AlphaStation 200
systems; the mid-range AlphaStation 250 workstation; and the AlphaStation
600 system, the world's fastest workstation. AlphaStation workstations run
OpenVMS, Digital UNIX, and Windows NT. The raw processing power combined
with a wide range of graphics options make AlphaStations the new
superpower in workstation computing.

Digital's Alpha family of 64-RISC servers includes the AlphaServer 8400 and
8200 enterprise servers, which deliver mainframe performance at a fraction
of the cost; AlphaServer 2100 and 2000 systems, ideal application and
network servers; and AlphaServer 1000 and 400 systems for departmental and
workgroup applications. Digital offers a balanced choice of processor
speed; single- and multi-processor configurations; Digital UNIX, Windows
NT, and OpenVMS operating systems; symmetric multiprocessing and high
availability features; and thousands of popular applications.

Incorporated in May of 1989, microCAD Solutions, Inc. is a dynamic company
dedicated to the development, marketing, and support of MCAE/CAD/CAM
systems. With the recent acquisition of CAD Solutions, Inc., microCAD is
now one of the largest CAD/CAM VARs in North America. The company has
offices in Santa Anna, San Jose, and San Diego, California; Phoenix,
Arizona; Englewood, Colorado; Detroit and Kalamazoo, Michigan; Oakbrook
Illinois; and Cleveland, Ohio.

Digital Equipment Corporation is the world's leader in open client/server
solutions from personal computing to integrated worldwide information
systems. Digital's scalable Alpha platforms, storage, networking, software
and services, together with industry- focused solutions from business
partners, help organizations compete and win in today's global
marketplace.
