ATTACHMATE OUTDISTANCES COMPETITION WITH EXTRA! PERSONAL CLIENT 6.1

While the rest of the industry struggles to catch up, Attachmate comes to
market with the next generation of its leading Windows 95 enterprise
information access product.

NETWORKS EXPO - Attachmate - The Intranet Company - today announced EXTRA!
Personal Client 6.1, an enhanced release of Attachmate's highly successful
and widely accepted enterprise connectivity product. EXTRA! Personal
Client is the industry's only 16-bit and 32-bit enterprise information
access solution for Windows 95, Windows NT, and Windows 3.x.

In addition to a 32-bit version of Attachmate's award winning NetWizard
software management program, EXTRA! Personal Client 6.1 enhancements
include support for Cisco's Native Client Interface Architecture (NCIA)
and IBM's CICS Server, as well as other additional host access options.
Further, EXTRA! Personal Client 6.1 features integration of Wollongong's
TCP/IP technology, including the stack and a high-performance NFS client.

This release provides significant measurable gains in performance and ease
of use. Additionally, EXTRA! Personal Client's 32-bit component has been
certified 29 percent easier to use than its industry-leading 16-bit
component (EXTRA! for Windows) as measured by the Tolly Group, an
independent testing organization. Plus, it's backed by Attachmate's
recently announced SUPPORTWARE! 96 Program which offers customers the
industry's first 72-hour critical problem resolution guarantee.

Lockheed Martin is rolling out 1,000 copies of EXTRA! Personal Client for
Maryland's Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation (DLLR). "From an
acquisition standpoint, EXTRA! Personal Client has everything we need to
make this project successful," said Bob Matthews, systems integrator with
Lockheed Martin. "It is the one package that gives us the access we need,
a solid client/server development platform, centralized workstation
management, and the ability to move the project to the Internet in the
future."

EXTRA! Personal Client is deployed in production environments worldwide.
While other vendors in the market have yet to release even their first
Windows 95 version, EXTRA! Personal Client 6.1 offers a complete set of
mature product features and components along with other productivity
enhancements for all Windows platforms.

New features include: an NFS client, APPN enhancements, NCIA support,
IRMALAN via Banyan VINES IP, VxD support for TCP/IP, silent mode
installation, operating system auto-sensing, providing a significant
increase in performance.

Enhancements to EXTRA! Personal Client's 32-bit component include:

FT/Express, DOS HLLAPI Support, 32-bit NetWizard support, and QuickFields
which give enterable fields in display sessions amore Windows-like look.

Windows NT-specific features include: COAX DFT and SDLC support and
multi-user login support.

Enhancements to EXTRA! Personal Client 6.1's 16-bit component include:

IBM CICS Server support, IBM ADSM support, NetBIOS, IPX/SPX, Banyan Vines
IP to IRMALAN, TN3270E support, Eicon's SNA Gateway support, multiple
destinations DLC 802.2 support, and Banyan Base and Advanced support.

An option for Unisys host connectivity is also available to EXTRA! Personal
Client 6.1 desktop users. In addition, Unisys customers can purchase the
connectivity of EXTRA! Personal Client as well as the existing Unisys host
access in a consistently presented frame known as INFOConnect.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY

EXTRA! Personal Client, will be available February 29, 1996 with a US
suggested retail price of $425. EXTRA! Personal Client 6.1 is available to
the channel through major distributors including Merisel, Ingram Micro,
and TechData. Localized German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian,
Japanese, Korean, and Chinese versions will be available in the second
quarter of 1996.
