PCI Spring Developers Conference Set for April 29 in San Jose

San Diego, CA. February 15, 1996--Annabooks Conferences and PC2 Consulting
announce the PCI Spring Developers Conference and Expo, which will be held
April 29-May 3, 1996 in San Jose, CA at the Red Lion Hotel. The PCI Spring
Developers Conference will include two days of exhibits featuring the
latest hardware and software from leading PCI vendors. The conference
portion will feature five days of tutorials, technical sessions, and panel
discussions covering not only PCI, but emerging PCI-compatible
technologies.

Conference tutorial topics will include PCI hardware, software, and
firmware design, PCI ASIC development, CardBus, Universal Serial Bus
(USB), hot swap, small PCI, embedded PCI, and PCI market strategies.
Session topics will include mobile and industrial applications, PCI
Mezzanine Card (PMC), Common Hardware Reference Platform (CHRP), PCI
bridges and bus-to-bus connections, graphics cards and video/imaging
applications, and signal processing applications. Panel discussions will
focus on board-level issues, future PCI directions, and multimedia
applications.

Annabooks and PC2 Consulting held separate conferences (PCI '95 and the PCI
Spring '95 Workshop, respectively) in 1995. For 1996, the companies have
agreed to join forces and produce a single premier event. "Combining the
two conferences," notes Annabooks CEO John Choisser, "will make it easier
to serve all engineers who are interested in PCI technology."

More on PCI

The PCI Bus is a 132-Mbyte/sec data transfer bus that is rapidly being
adopted as an industry standard. The high-speed local bus provides a
supplement to or substitute for the ISA/EISA bus in compute- and
data-intensive applications like multimedia, simulation, audio, and
graphics. CardBus is a new PCI-compliant 32-bit PC Card (PCMCIA)
technology. The Universal Serial Bus (USB) is a new PCI-based personal
computer interconnect for external computer peripherals.
