ADIC Earns ISO 9001 Certification; Automated Tape Storage Libraries

Manufacturer Certified by International Registrar

(REDMOND, WASH., FEBRUARY 7, 1996) ADIC, the leading manufacturer of
drive-independent automated tape storage libraries for networked systems,
has received formal ISO 9001 certification (Registration No. 33011) from
BSI Inc., an internationally accredited quality systems organization.

"ADIC considers the ISO 9001 certification a milestone that reflects the
company's overall dedication to maintaining the highest standards in all
of its operations," according to Chuck Stonecipher, ADIC Chief Operation
Officer. "ADIC's world-wide installed base of more than 12,000 automated
tape libraries is focused in Fortune 100 companies, banks, insurance
companies, governmental agencies and other organizations that place the
highest value on the integrity of their data. The ISO 9001 certification
is a demonstration that ADIC shares with these customers a commitment to
the highest levels of quality in every part of its operations--from
product development and qualification to manufacturing and technical
support."

ISO 9001 is an encompassing form of ISO 9000, a common set of recognized
international standards and requirements that define quality principles
and practices in all elements of a certified company's operations. This
certification is recognized throughout the European Union, European Free
Trade Association (EFTA) Countries, and in more than 90 countries around
the world. Stonecipher commented, "ADIC's ISO 9001 certification
underscores the increasing importance of international trade in its core
business. We, as a company, are reflecting--and benefiting from--the
globilization of networking technology."

ADIC is one of the pioneering companies in the development, manufacturing,
and marketing of automated data storage products for Local Area Networks
(LANs). "With the growth of the Internet as a tool of business, the
movement toward storing critical data on-line, and the international
increase in client-server networks, data that is critical to the key
missions of organizations is exploding," according to William Britts, ADIC
Sales and Marketing VP. "The stability that the ISO 9001 methodology
provides is helping ADIC continue to provide its customers with the
highest levels of data protection--at the same time it is managing the
integration of new technology and the more than 50% revenue growth that we
saw in 1995."

ADIC has been providing storage solutions since its founding in 1983. It is
the leading drive-independent supplier of automated tape storage libraries
for client-server networks with over 12,000 units in the field. ADIC
products are available with 4mm (DAT), 8mm, and DLT drive technology, and
are supported by every leading supplier of backup and HSM software
products in all leading operating systems.

with headquarters in Redmond, Washington. ADIC can be reached at
