Backup deal of the year!
ADIC 1200D 4mm Autochanger and Cheyenne ARCserve 6 Upgrade at the cost of
two single 4mm drives.

ADIC announced today a 120-day special offer designed to make automated
backup affordable for thousands of Cheyenne ARCserve users that are
continuing to struggle with manual tape changing or that have outgrown
their current backup hardware.

The special offer provides any user of Cheyenne ARCserve for NetWare 4.x or
5.x with an upgrade to the new ARCserve 6 version, a Changer Option, and
an ADIC 1200D DDS-2 DAT Autochanger for a list price of only $4995. The
package represents a value of almost $8000.

"This offer is ADIC's way of encouraging the large number of Cheyenne
ARCserve users to automate their backup strategy, while they are taking
advantage of ARCserve 6's enhanced media management capabilities,"
according to William Britts, ADIC Sales and Marketing Vice President. "The
cost to the user of getting the premier autochanger on the market with
96GB of automated storage and the latest version of the best selling
backup software is just about exactly the list price of two single DAT
drives."

"The ADIC 1200D is the standard 4mm autochanger for PC LANs, with over
10,000 units providing reliable backup for the most critical data in the
industry. And Cheyenne ARCserve 6 is the backup software product LAN
managers have been waiting for--this rele ase will be the biggest backup
industry event in the last two years," Britts continued. "In the past, the
ARCserve installed base has predominantly used stand-alone tape drives.
ARCserve 6 provides the kinds of radical advances in speed, functionality,
and ease of use that will make it easy for thousands of these users to
move up to an ADIC automated tape library."

"The ADIC 1200D Autochanger is the PERFECT complement for ARCserve 6's new
media management functionality," according to Jim McNiel, Executive Vice
President of Business Development for Cheyenne Software. "Together they
provide LAN managers with a compre hensive, automated backup and restore
system that will save crucial administration time, as well as provide
superior data protection. This combination is a best buy."

The ADIC 1200D DAT Autochanger offers up to 96 GB of near-line tape storage
capacity, with a choice of Sony or HP 4mm DDS-2 drive. The product is
built around ADIC's exclusive single-axis robotics, which- -with millions
of field-use hours--has become the industry standard for reliability. The
1200D features a 12-cartridge magazine which virtually eliminates the need
for single tape handling, and provides ample capacity for both multiple
backup cycles and positions for cleaning cartridges. The ADIC 1200D also
offers visual monitoring of drive status, easy access to the drive for
manual operations, and a locking cover for high data security.

Cheyenne ARCserve for NetWare 6 is the most advanced backup software
product that Cheyenne has offered to date. New features include automated
disaster recovery and pre-scheduling of cleaning for increased drive and
media life. New management features i nclude full NDS compliant support,
centralized job management, drive and media pooling to support multiple
drives and multiple libraries, and advanced media management to automate
media rotation. ARCserve 6 also includes a highly intuitive Windows graphi
cal interface which allows for calendar-based scheduling, and user level
file restore. Outside ADIC's special offer, the Cheyenne ARCserve upgrade
and Changer Option combination retails for $995.

The offer is designed exclusively for existing Cheyenne 4.x or 5.x users
and will upgrade sites at their current user level. The promotional
pricing will be available from February 1 to May 31, 1996.
