---------------------------------------------------------------------

JANUARY 8, 1996, MOBILE, AL -- XANTE Corporation introduces the
Accel-a-Graphix CT4, the first free-standing dedicated color control tower
based on XANTE's intelligent RISC architecture and Adobe PostScript Level
2. This controller provides a powerful, yet cost effective means to
maximize productivity by running up to four wide format inkjet printers
simultaneously. In addition, the Accel-a-Graphix CT4 also supports poster
size printing up to 50' x 50' (15.24 m x 15.24 m) and job scaling up to 20
times the original image size.

The Accel-a-Graphix CT4 supports parallel connectivity for up to four HP
RTL capable printers, including ENCAD's NOVAJET printer line. This
controller is engineered with the 33 MHz AMD 29030 RISC processor, 32 MB
RAM, upgradable to 128 MB, and built-in 1 GB hard drive for font storage,
job storage, and job spooling. Additional internal hard disks can be added
using the controller's three expansion bays.

The Accel-a-Graphix CT4 is designed for multi-platform networks by
controlling the processing and printing of complex documents from PC,
Macintosh, and UNIX computers. This is achieved through simultaneously
active serial, parallel, LocalTalk, and EtherTalk interfaces. Standard
Ethernet supports concurrently active EtherTalk, Novel Netware, and TCP/IP
protocols.

"The Accel-a-Graphix CT4 has an intelligent controller architecture that is
designed to be the driving force to a production-intensive inkjet
operation," stated XANTE's Vice President of Marketing and International
Sales, Martin Kennedy. "As an end user's work load increases, he can
increase productivity by simply adding a printer to his system without
having to invest in an additional controller. The advanced features and
simplicity of set up and use makes the Accel-a-Graphix CT4 the most
powerful, productive printing system in its class. "

The Accel-a-Graphix CT4 supports XANTE's X-Screening Halftone Technology.
This technology uses finely tuned stochastic screening to improve the
appearance of print by scattering the dots that simulate various shades.
This advanced screening method reduces graininess and moire patterns
normally associated with printing conventional halftones on inkjet
printers. XANTE's Spot Screen is also available for printing traditional
halftone screens.

ACCEL-A-GRAPHIX CT4 FEATURES

Adobe PostScript Level 2 Software - The Accel-a-Graphix CT4 offers the
reliability, assurance of compatibility, and high performance provided by
Adobe PostScript Level 2 software. This software offers several benefits,
including data compression, forms support, pattern caching, composite font
support, and the ability to handle large graphic files.

Large Format Color Output - The Accel-a-Graphix CT4 supports 300x300 dpi
inkjet output up to 36" wide on HP RTL capable printers such as ENCAD's
NOVAJET Pro, NOVAJET III, NOVAJET II, Hewlett-Packard's DesignJet 650 and
750 C, CalComp's TechJet series, and more.

Multi-Printer Support - XANTE's Cascading features allow multiple copies of
a single job to be printed simultaneously on four printers, or in tandem
with four independent jobs, or any combination of the above.

Poster Sized Printing - This feature allows up to 50' x 50' posters to be
printed with smart tiling that can spool tiles on up to four printers
simultaneously. Users also have the ability to scale images outside an
application by using a scale factor from 2 to 20 times the original size
from the printer driver, extending the scaling limitations of
applications. External scaling allows users to create smaller, less disk
and RAM intensive files for faster spooling.

Multiple Screening - XANTE's photo-quality technology uses stochastic
screening to improve the appearance of print by scattering the dots that
simulate various shades. This advanced screening method reduces graininess
and moire patterns normally associated with printing conventional
halftones on inkjet printers. XANTE's Spot Screen is also available for
printing traditional halftone screens.

Step and Repeat - Multiple copies of the same job can be printed across the
page for optimized media usage. Users may also set the matte space between
jobs.

Color Management - XANTE's controller technology implements PostScript
Color Rendering Dictionaries for accurate color on popular inks and media.
Also, using the Color Curve Control, users may also adjust the tonal
density in all four color planes and save and retrieve these custom
transfer curves to ensure color continuity.

Job Spooling - Jobs can be spooled to the print queue, permitting long
periods of operation, which is useful for printing multiple jobs and for
overnight production. Jobs can be temporarily suspended and resumed, to
allow users to service the printer. PostScript files and fonts can be
stored on the 1 GB internal disk for quick reprint.

Paper Conservation - The controller identifies the best horizontal and
vertical fit (size) on available paper, automating image rotation. The
controller also allows you to save media when the image's printable region
is smaller than the selected media size by skipping over white space.
Using Best Fit when multiple printers are attached, the controller selects
the next available printer with the most appropriate paper size when
another job is printing, thus eliminating waste.

Auto Reduction - This feature allows the controller to automatically reduce
oversized jobs to a printable size. Oversized jobs include those that are
too long or wide to print on the selected media.

Width Control - The Accel-a-Graphix CT4 allows the user to preset the
maximum width of a job, between 3' and 50' in 1' increments. This feature
allows the controller to use RAM more efficiently. Printing times can be
decreased by matching this setting with your typical job width.

Multiple Print Modes - The user may control the desired print quality by
selecting one of 8 print modes. XANTE's Ink Saver Mode is available for
speed and proofing, while the enhanced 4 pass setting is recommended for
final printing.

Multi-Tasking - The Accel-a-Graphix CT4 can print and receive files
simultaneously across the network, improving overall performance. Job
overlap allows files to process while other print.

Parallel Buffer - The user may configure the size of the input buffer to
the parallel interface between 8K and 4096K, enabling speed gains up to
three times faster from PC/compatible computers.

High Performance Controller Architecture - The XANTE designed controller is
powered by the 33 MHz AMD 29030 RISC processor with caching capabilities
to enable faster color printing. It includes a standard 32 MB RAM,
upgradable to 128 MB.

Simultaneous Interfacing - RS-232 serial, Centronics parallel, LocalTalk,
and EtherTalk interfaces are included and can all be active simultaneously
for seamless, cross-platform support. Ethernet, running concurrently
active EtherTalk, Novell Netware, and TCP/IP protocols, is standard.

Font Handling - In addition to providing a standard of 35 resident
typefaces, XANTE includes support for TrueType fonts and Adobe's Type 0,
1, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 42 downloadable fonts.

TARGET MARKETS & APPLICATIONS

Because of the endless list of applications for this new color technology,
the principle markets that are attracted to the Accel-a-Graphix CT4
incorporates a wide variety. These include service bureaus, ad/design
agencies, retailers, educational institutions, architects, law firms, and
many more. These professions require the high quality large format color
printing that is only provided with XANTE's Accel-a-Graphix CT4.

Service bureaus benefit heavily from the controller's ability to print on
up to four printers simultaneously. This allows them the flexibility to
print more than one job and/or several copies of the same job at the same
time. Productivity can also be maximized by configuring each printer with
different media types and sizes, saving set up time. For ad and design
agencies, the Accel-a-Graphix CT4 means client composites and mock-ups can
be produced in just one simple step - no more stripping and tiling. Final
products, as well as textures and backdrops for photo shoots, can be
produced quickly and easily.

Establishments such as grocery stores, bakeries, restaurants, caterers, and
hotels all require posters, window displays, lobby displays, elevator
signs, and wall hangings. The legal profession also has a need for
effective courtroom graphics and presentation materials that can be
printed quickly and easily in rich, vibrant colors.

The Accel-a-Graphix CT4's quality, speed, and flexibility greatly improves
