Virtus Ships Voyager 1.0: Industry's First 3-D Mac Browser

Virtus Provides Complete Mac VRML Viewing and Building Solutions

MACWORLD EXPO - JANUARY 9, 1996 - Virtus Corporation today announced the
availability of Virtus Voyager 1.0, the industry's first 68K and Power
Macintosh Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML) browser. Virtus is now
the only provider of 3-D Internet viewing and building solutions for the
Macintosh platform, as it adds this browser to its suite of VRML authoring
tools. These products will be demonstrated in the Virtus booth #3577 at
Macworld Expo this week.

"Our focus is on the end user who views and builds 3-D Internet solutions
on the traditional desktop computer," said David Smith, CEO and founder of
Virtus Corporation. "Adding Virtus Voyager to our existing line of
easy-to-use 3-D authoring tools for the desktop enables the average Web
builder to view, build and navigate 3-D Internet content in real-time."

Virtus Voyager enables users to view VRML sites that have been constructed
using Virtus' 3-D world builder, Virtus WalkThrough Pro or any other 3-D
modeling package that supports VRML export. Virtus Voyager can be
configured as a helper application with Hypertext Modeling Language (HTML)
browsers including Netscape NavigatorPro and Oracle PowerBrowser; future
development includes plug-in support for HTML browsers that accept
plug-ins. This browser also employs in-line graphics, via URLs, to provide
accurate updates; provides Level of Detail (LOD) control for efficient
navigation; and supports all major Internet texture standards, including
Graphic Interchange Format (GIF) and Joint Photographic Experts Group
(JPEG.)

Virtus Voyager is downloadable free of charge from the Virtus home page
(http://www.virtus.com) and many other sites on the World Wide Web. Virtus
Voyager is compatible with any color Macintosh running System 7.0.1 or
higher. Voyager for Windows, along with other product enhancements, will
ship late first quarter.
