Texas Instruments Announces Enhancement To Extensa Family Of Notebook
Computers

DALLAS (Jan. 8, 1996) -- To enhance its popular line of notebooks aimed at
the small office/home office marketplace, Texas Instruments today
announced upgrades to the Extensa(TM) family of notebook computers. The
upgrades, which include hard disk drive expansions and the addition of
quad speed CD ROMs, will make affordable, portable computing even more
powerful for home office, small business users and in corporate
applications. The TFT models are especially well-suited for these markets.
All new models shipped on Jan. 5, 1996.

"The Extensa family has been very popular with both the small office and
home office markets," stated Steve Lair, vice president, worldwide
marketing and sales TI's Personal Productivity Products. "TI has entered
the SOHO market to stay, and offering a product with increased capacity
and functionality shows our dedication to pleasing our customers. With
this upgrade, we offer a more powerful multimedia machine to all users and
we continue our expansion of a notebook line that meets the needs of the
SOHO market."

The Extensa family continues to deliver TI performance, quality and
versatility at prices that are competitive and affordable. Every aspect of
the Extensa notebooks reflects TI's legendary technology and quality; the
larger hard disk drives and quad speed CD ROMs give customers the industry
standard for high-end computing. The modular floppy disk drive is
interchangeable with an optional lithium ion battery. A CD-ROM module is
optional on the Model 550.

The Extensa 560 models meet a wide range of users' needs with a 75MHz
Pentium processor, PCI bus architecture and 256KB Level 2 (L2) cache to
provide all the performance required to take advantage of the preinstalled
Windows(R) 95 in a small footprint weighing only 6.2 pounds.
