OBERON ANNOUNCES SUPPORT FOR LOTUS 4.0 WITH PROSPERO

Orlando, FL-January 22, 1996-Oberon Software, Inc., pioneer of easy-to-use
visual application integration tools, today announced that Prospero, its
award winning product, now supports Lotus Notes Release 4.0, the world's
leading messaging and groupware product. Lotus Notes users can now
streamline their data integration tasks, eliminating cumbersome
export/import processes and integrate their Lotus Notes information with
other desktop applications and ODBC databases. Unlike previous tools used
for data integration, Prospero requires no coding or modifications to the
applications it integrates and can work with existing Lotus Notes
databases, spreadsheets, word processing documents or ODBC databases.

"Lotus Notes users can benefit from an easy way to integrate information
between desktop PC applications, corporate databases, and their Notes
forms," said Bill Clarke, Director of Sales and Marketing for Oberon
Software. "Since Prospero is architected specifically for client/server
and groupware applications, these users can create natural extensions to
their Lotus Notes information in a flexible and visual way."

Users of Lotus Notes 4.0 can create graphical programs that integrate
existing desktop applications with Notes databases. Programs and applets
are created in Prospero by connecting together graphical building blocks
that Prospero forms automatically from the applications that need to share
data. For example, a Notes building block is automatically configured to
read documents using views and to create or access a document using forms.
Ports from views are named with the view column headings; ports from forms
are named with the prompt text within the form. Programs created by
Prospero can be run in the product or as stand alone programs which can be
run independently or embedded in other applications.

Prospero supports the fundamental Notes data types as well as a translation
between Notes internal rich text and Microsoft Rich Text Format.
Calculated fields are also supported. Prospero is OLE enabled so visual
programs can be embedded in Notes documents.

Availability and Pricing

Prospero 1.0A is shipping now and is available immediately from Oberon
