Newer Technology Expands Full Service UltraDock With 10BaseT Ethernet
Capabilities for PowerBook Duo Computers

WICHITA, Kan. -- 01/18/95 -- Newer Technology is expanding the capabilities
of its portable docking station, UltraDock, with the addition of 10BaseT
Ethernet. The UltraDock also offers vivid 16-bit color output and ports
for audio, SCSI, external floppy and ADB connections.

"PowerBook Duo owners can transfer data at up to 10 MB/sec on any 10BaseT
Ethernet network using the UltraDock 16sce," stated Gene Hildebrandt, vice
president of sales and marketing at Newer Technology. "The UltraDock 16sce
packs every desktop feature you need into one highly portable and
affordable package."

The UltraDock 16sce not only offers a fast transfer rate, it automatically
senses the network media and warns the user of any problems. A Control
Panel displays SNMP statistics on the entire Ethernet segment and provides
error counts as well. Built-in diagnostics include cable disconnection
indication and three levels of loopback testing that ensure proper
functioning.

The UltraDock 16sce provides 16-bit color output on monitors up to 14
inches (8-bit color on monitors from 15 inches to 21 inches). Hildebrandt
added, "UltraDock 16sce is compatible with 13- to 21-inch Apple displays
as well as most third party displays and RGB and VGA monitors." Users may
also attach ADB and SCSI devices to their PowerBook Duo as well as audio
speakers and an external floppy drive. Retail price for the UltraDock
16sce is $575 with a street price estimated to be $510.

Newer Technology also offers several low cost, pocket-size "specialized"
