MSN EXTENDS TRIAL-MEMBERSHIP OFFER

REDMOND, WASH. - JAN. 16, 1996 - Microsoft Corp. today announced it will
extend its trial-membership offer on MSN, The Microsoft Network, to 30
days of unlimited usage at no charge. This allows new MSN subscribers even
more time to explore the many offerings of MSN.

Previously, the MSN trial-membership period provided new subscribers with
the standard online offer of 30 days or 10 hours at no charge. With the
new offer, first-time MSN subscribers can take unlimited advantage of the
unique content, e-mail accounts, full World Wide Web access (where
available), and thousands of Internet newsgroups on MSN for their first
month of membership.

With the majority of its subscribers using full Internet access, MSN has
become one of the largest Internet service providers available today.
