MIRUS AWARDED PRESIDENT'S 'E' AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN EXPORTING

Manufacturer of Desktop Slide Presentation FilmPrinters Recognized for its
Contributions to U.S. Balance of Trade

Santa Clara, CA -- January 2, 1996 -- Mirus Industries Corp., today said
that it has been awarded the President's 'E' Award for Excellence in
Exporting.

The award was presented to Mirus executives in person by Ron Brown,
Secretary of the U.S. Department of Commerce, in the name of President
Clinton. Secretary Brown remarked that Mirus' recognition stems from its
significant contribution as a small company to U.S. exports, with
equipment currently being sold into more than fifty countries.

Bruce MacKay, Mirus' president of chief executive officer, said, 'I believe
that the combination of Mirus' international sensibilities, based on
experience, along with U.S. technological and marketing know-how, and
capped by an understanding of the demand for desktop slidemaking systems
worldwide, contributed directly to our recognition by the U.S.
Government.'

Mirus develops, manufactures and markets a line of digital desktop 35-mm
slidemaking systems called FilmPrinters used by scientific, medical,
industrial and business end users as well as service bureaus for
high-resolution presentations.

Mirus' superior export performance over the last four years was the
qualification for an 'E' Award, demonstrated by a comprehensive written
application. This documented the significant portion of total product
sales constituted by company exports, which are in excess of the industry
average. In addition, Mirus showed evidence of a substantial increase in
export volumes over the period, and also showed that its methodology
resulted in breakthroughs in especially competitive markets as well as the
introduction of new products into U.S. export trade. Also documented were
key export issues and obstacles overcome, along with the effectiveness of
the company's international marketing program.

According to the Dept. of Commerce, the 'E' Award is patterned after the
practice of recognizing production plants during World War II, during
which it became a symbol of patriotism in action. The modern-day
adaptation of the 'E' Award in 1961 became a recognition of the importance
of export trade to the economic security of the nation.

Mirus Industries Corporation, incorporated in 1991 and privately-held,
offers a complete line of high-resolution, economical desktop digital
slidemaking systems. Through the use of popular software, users easily and
quickly create and print high-resolution 35-mm color slide presentations
on IBM PC-compatible, or Apple Macintosh computers. User benefits are
significant cost and time savings with rapid payback to end user or
service bureau owners.

Mirus users depend on slides for the high-resolution communication of a
variety of graphics material, as slides are the preferred medium to
