INTERPLAY ANNOUNCES STREET DATE FOR CONQUEST OF THE NEW WORLD AT WINTER
CES

January 5, 1996 -- Irvine, California -- Interplay Productions announced
today at the Winter Consumer Electronics Show (CES) the street date for
Conquest Of The New World for IBM and 100% compatible systems. From the
producers of the award-winning Castles and Castles II: Siege And Conquest,
Conquest Of The New World is a strategy/action game as epic in its nature
as the New World was to those first few explorers. Gamers will find
Conquest Of The New World at retailers nationwide April 24, 1996.

"The exploration, discovery and conquest of America continues to hold the
fascination and attention of gamers world-wide," commented Trish Wright,
vice-president of marketing for Interplay. "With Conquest, gamers will
experience first-hand the thrill of exploring, trading and doing battle in
the new world."

In this turn-based game, an added element that sets Conquest apart from the
competition is that players have the option to play via networks, e-mail
or modem against up to six opponents. Players will duel it out in grand
battles, discover rich lands to cultivate, and develop the resources
necessary to create a world-power -- if their enemies don't get in the
way. This eventful title is filled with outstanding graphics, digital
music, rich gameplay and awesome sound that players have come to expect
from a top-quality Interplay CD- ROM game.

Players will compete as either England, France, Spain, Holland, Portugal or
the Native Americans in an attempt to conquer and colonize the new world.
Strategy enthusiasts will enjoy the challenge as they choose their victory
conditions and balance building, trade, politics and warfare in their own
grand strategy.
