Intergraph Expands Lead as Top 3D Plant Design Vender, According to
Daratech Analyst

HUNTSVILLE, ALA., JAN. 26, 1996 -- Intergraph Software Solutions has
expanded its software leadership to own nearly half the 3D plant design
market according to a report by industry analyst Daratech Inc.

Intergraph has increased its share of the 1995 3D plant design software
market to 47.4 percent, said the Daratech report released at its 1996
Plant Design/Plant Management Automation Strategy Workshop in Boston. This
report shows a 25 percent jump in market share for Intergraph compared to
1994's figure of 37.9 percent.

"Intergraph's leadership in adopting Microsoft Windows NT as its standard
platform for plant design/plant management applications is paying off
handsomely as Intergraph's strength in the marketplace and market share
increases," said Charles M. Foundyller, president of Daratech. "More and
more major engineering and construction firms and owner/operators are
moving to adopt Windows NT as their in-house standard. As this trend
continues, Daratech expects Intergraph's market position to strengthen
even further."

INDUSTRY TRENDS ALSO CONTRIBUTE TO SUCCESS

"I am extremely pleased with the success of Intergraph's plant design
solutions in 1995," said Rob Glasier, executive director of Intergraph's
Process and Building Solutions. "That success is a strong endorsement of
our products as the most widely accepted and proven software for meeting
the increasingly demanding requirements of the industry. In addition to
the growth we have experienced due to our recent migration to Windows NT,
industry factors, such as the increased use of fixed-price contracts;
requirements for improved quality, constructability and maintainability;
and the use of the 3D product model in operations and maintenance have
contributed to our success.

"We believe this growth confirms the need for full-function plant design
systems in this market segment that can run on popular Windows-based
hardware. We made a leading-edge decision three years ago to move our
Plant Design System (PDS) to Windows NT. This report reinforces that
decision and gives us confidence for agressively using the Windows
platform for our future developments."

Intergraph's market share is now 2.5 times more than that of its closest
competitor, CADCentre, which posted only marginal growth in 1995. Third on
the list was REBIS, which reported a decrease. Total software revenue for
the plant design industry was $66 million in 1995, an increase of 6.6
percent over 1994.

ABOUT INTERGRAPH'S PLANT DESIGN SOLUTION

Intergraph's plant design solution includes Plant Design System (PDS), a
modular suite of applications for front-end engineering (process flow
diagrams, piping & instrumentation diagrams and instrumentation data
management) and detailed engineering (3D piping design, equipment
modeling, raceway, HVAC and interference checking). Intergraph also
provides the plant design industry with complete product offerings for
enterprise-wide information management solutions, visualization and
walk-through systems, close-range photogrammetry products, software for
the entry-level marketplace, and other products to address the complete
life cycle needs of the industry.

For more than 15 years, PDS has been used by leading engineering and
construction firms and owner/operators. More than $100 billion worth of
projects have been designed using PDS in oil and gas, petrochemical,
offshore, chemical, pharmaceutical, power and cogeneration, and other
industries. PDS is the only truly integrated solution on Microsoft Windows
NT that addresses the entire plant life cycle - from design and
construction to operations and maintenance.
