Intergraph High-Performance 3D Workstations Added to NAVSEA CAD-2,
Facilities CAD-2, and NAVAIR/SPAWAR CAD-2 Contracts

HUNTSVILLE, ALA., JANUARY 2, 1996 -- Intergraph Corporation announced today
that the U.S. Navy has added Intergraph's new series of TDZ
high-performance, 3D graphics workstations to the NAVSEA, NAVAIR/SPAWAR,
and Facilities CAD-2 contracts. The Intergraph TDZ workstations are the
computer industry's first implementation of multiple Intel Pentium Pro
processors in an interactive 3D graphics workstation. Loaded with
Microsoft's Windows NT operating system and running OpenGL graphics
accelerators, the TDZ systems provide graphics and technical users with 3D
graphics desktop workstations that have more processing power and software
available than comparable RISC-based UNIX systems.

The CAD-2 contracts offer the TDZ-300 desktop workstation with a single 200
MHz Pentium Pro processor and Intergraph's GLZ1, GLZ1T, or GLZ2 graphics
processor. Available from less than $10,000, the TDZ-300 is equipped with
32MB of memory, a 1GB disk drive, CD-ROM and a PCMCIA interface. The CAD-2
contracts also include Intergraph's TDZ-400 desktop or deskside
workstations with dual 200 MHz Pentium Pro processors and Intergraph's
GLZ1T, GLZ2, GLZ5 or GLZ6 graphics processor. The TDZ-400 is equipped with
64MB of memory, a 2GB disk drive, CD-ROM and a PCMCIA interface. In
addition to the Windows NT operating system, the multimedia-ready TDZs are
preloaded with plotting software and prepared for Ethernet connection.

"The Pentium Pro boosts system performance to levels that exceed all
previous generations. With a comprehensive roster of graphics
capabilities, coupled with hardware that accelerates graphics performance,
the TDZ clearly proves the Pentium Pro has secured a position in the
high-end 3D graphics workstation market," said Carl Everett, Senior Vice
President of the Desktop Products Group, Intel Corporation.

"Intergraph's TDZ workstations are ideal for those using high performance
graphics in visual computing, including 3D ship modeling, weapons systems
simulation, and virtual reality applications," said Tom Baybrook,
Intergraph Federal Systems Vice President of Marketing and CAD-2. "The new
TDZ workstations take maximum advantage of the processing power of the
Pentium Pro, built-in support for efficient multiprocessing, and industry
leading OpenGL graphics accelerators, to offer a new level of price
performance for users of complex graphics applications." In addition,
Baybrook noted that "there is no better performing system for running the
broad range of Windows NT and Windows 95 applications available today.
High-end graphics users accustomed to the expensive prices of proprietary
UNIX 3D graphics solutions now have a low-cost alternative."

THE CAD-2 PROGRAM

There are three components in the $1.2 billion CAD-2 program for the
acquisition of computer-aided design, manufacturing and engineering
(CAD/CAM/CAE) systems based on commercial off-theshelf technology: NAVSEA
CAD-2, Facilities CAD-2, and NAVAIR/SPAWAR CAD-2. The first CAD-2
contract, from the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), was awarded to
Intergraph in 1991 for engineering and design hardware, software, and
services for applications such as ship modeling, overhaul, and repair.
Intergraph was selected for the second CAD-2 award, Facilties CAD-2, in
1992 to provide computer-aided design and more engineering (CAD/CAE)
systems for architecture, engineering and construction (AEC), geographic
information systems (GIS), and facilities management applications. The
most recent CAD-2 contract, NAVAIR/SPAWAR CAD-2, was awarded in 1994 by
the Naval Air Systems Command and Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command
to Intergraph Corporation for computer- aided systems and services for
electronic and mechanical design, manufacturing, and engineering
(CAD/CAM/CAE) in aeronautical and aerospace applications.

The CAD-2 contracts enable Federal buyers to purchase a Technical Desktop
workstation, taking advantage of Microsoft Windows NT capability to
integrate technical and business applications in a single system for
maximum productivity.

An agreement with the Department of Defense enables all branches of the
U.S. military to buy from the CAD-2 contracts. Civilian Federal agencies,
such as the Department of Commerce, the Department of Energy and the
Environmental Protection Agency, also may buy from the Facilities CAD-2
contract.
