Treatments -- http://www.healthgate.com

BOSTON, MA - HealthGate Data Corp. today launched the first World Wide Web
information system that provides consumers with global access to
biomedical, healthcare, and wellness databases, journals, textbooks, and
related resources. Unique to the World Wide Web, HealthGate offers
immediate entry to a collection of 11 databases such as: MEDLINE, a
leading provider of medical and healthcare information; AIDSLINE, a
comprehensive catalogue of AIDS related articles and research; CANCERLIT,
a comprehensive database of cancer related journals, government reports
and monographs; and MDX Health Digest, containing references to consumer
health articles from over 200 publications. Unlike other on-line services,
HealthGate users can access MDX Health Digest for $0.25 per reference,
other on-line services charge as much as $2.00 per reference.

Users can browse any of the databases contained in the HealthGate Medical
Library's basic services and information found in Patient and Consumer
Health Information free of charge, from HealthGate's Web Site:
http://www.healthgate.com. Together, the Medical Library and the Patient
and Consumer Health Information modules constitute the World Wide Web's
most extensive and robust healthcare and biomedical researching device.

"HealthGate's primary objective is to facilitate improvements in patient
education and care, biomedical research, and medical education by bringing
medical information to our subscribers in an approachable and affordable
manner," said William Reece, CEO of HealthGate Data Corp. "Our service
offers a range of information to all levels of medical understanding.

Until today, medical databases and journals have been virtually
inaccessible to the general public for their personal research; HealthGate
provides the public with immediate easy access to these resources through
our web site."

Comprehensive Sources of Information:

A number of databases are available through HealthGate, each providing
users access to specific research. HealthGate is the first on-line service
to provide access to Well-Connected Consumer Health Reports, current
information from 56 different reports for healthcare consumers on specific
common health conditions and problems. MEDLINE, the world's largest
biomedical database with over 8 million references to journal articles in
all fields of medicine and related disciplines. Many healthcare providers
use MEDLINE as their first source for research. AIDSLINE supplies
references to journal articles, technical reports, and books related to
Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS). Other specialized databases
accessible through HealthGate include: AIDSDRUGS, AIDSTRIALS,
BIOETHICSLINE, Health Planning and Administration (HEALTH), MDX Health
Digest, and CANCERLIT. Do-It-Yourself Quick and Comprehensive Searches

HealthGate is redefining the future of information retrieval through its
easy-to-use searching device. HealthGate's ReADER technology enables users
to access all HealthGate biomedical information sources using either
natural language or controlled medical vocabularies. Anyone can search
HealthGate's databases because ReADER technology seamlessly translates the
user's words into appropriate database search queries.

If, for example, a user is searching for information on cat scans and is
unaware of the searching terms "tomography, x-ray computed" they simply
enter a phrase: "Tell me about cat scans" and ReADER automatically
translates the request into "Tell me about tomography, x-ray computed."
The translation is transparent to the user and requires no further
selections or codes to complete the research. Moments later the user will
have over 100 references relevant to their query. Browse At No Cost

Users can access HealthGate via the World Wide Web at --
http://www.healthgate.com and browse the medical titles for free. From the
Web Site, subscribers can access the Medical Library or Patient and
Consumer Health Information by clicking on the library icon or Patient and
Consumer Health Information. After entering a query, HealthGate's search
engine will display to users the most relevant titles of articles. Pricing
and Availability:

HealthGate can be accessed today, free of charge, by anyone with World Wide
Web access. Users can browse article titles free of charge, however,
further pricing is divided into two categories for occasional users and
frequent users. An occasional user can access detailed references for $.25
per bibliographic reference. Frequent users gain unlimited access for
