DAYNA BEGINS SHIPPNG BLUESTREAK 10/100 BRIDGE, ANNOUNCES FIRST FAST
ETHERNET PRODUCT TO BRIDGE TWO 100 MBPS SEGMENTS

MACWORLD EXPO, JANUARY 9, 1996 -- Dayna Communications, Inc. announced
today that it will begin shipping its stand-alone BlueStreak 10/100 Bridge
which provides 100 Mbps Fast Ethernet users with access to all services on
their existing 10 Mbps Ethernet LAN. In addition, the company also
announced today the first product to allow users to bridge two 100 Mbps
segments and to extend their Fast Ethernet network beyond the
collision-domain limitation of 205 meters with its new BlueStreak 100/100
Bridge. The new stand alone 100/100 bridge is the only product that
eliminates the current hub-to-hub limit of five meters by extending the
range between each hub on a Fast Ethernet segment to 100 meters.

BLUESTREAK 10/100 BRIDGE

Dayna's BlueStreak 10/100 Bridge provides 100 Mbps Fast Ethernet users with
access to printing, electronic mail, applications, and other services on
their existing 10 Mbps Ethernet LAN. This two-port bridge supports up to
1,024 addresses on both the 10 Mbps and the 100 Mbps ports, and provides
source address filtering for decreased network traffic.

"Given the expected growth in shipments of 10 Mbps Ethernet cards, routers,
switches, and hubs over the next several years, the ease with which users
are able to blend 100 Mbps Ethernet in lower speed Ethernet environments
will be a primary determinant of success for users wishing to bring their
Ethernet networks forward, and will determine the success of 100 Mbps
Ethernet technology itself," said Mark Leary, director of LAN research at
IDC. "Dayna's 10/100 bridging technology takes direct aim at easing 10/100
Mbps Ethernet integration....from the standpoints of pricing,
configuration, and operations."

The BlueStreak 10/100 Bridge includes auto configuration at startup, link
status and error detection LEDs, and supports AUI and RJ-45 connections on
the 10 Mbps port. The BlueStreak 10/100 Bridge has a street price of $950
and will be available February 5.

BLUESTREAK 100/100 BRIDGE

The BlueStreak 100/100 Bridge is the first product to allow users to extend
the distance between hubs up to 200 meters through automatic segmentation
of the network into two separate collision domains. This allows users to
segment their network in the same manner as 10BASE-T Ethernet, increasing
network performance. An address-filtering function automatically learns
source addresses of nodes on both segments; as traffic is sent and
received on the network, the 100/100 Bridge automatically filters local
traffic, reducing the network's utilization.

The BlueStreak 100/100 Bridge supports segments of up to 1,024 Ethernet
addresses on either segment and is protocol-independent, supporting
AppleTalk, TCP/IP, IPX, and other Ethernet-based protocols and network
operating systems. The 100/100 Bridge has two front-mounted RJ-45 ports,
supporting two-pair Category 5 cabling and includes diagnostic LEDs which
communicate link status, network errors, and network traffic on each
segment. The BlueStreak 100/100 Bridge is rack mountable through an
optional kit and will ship February 5. It has a street price of $1,250.
