Cheyenne Ships ARCserve Version 6 for NetWare

ROSLYN HEIGHTS, NY (JANUARY 2, 1996) - Cheyenne Software, Inc. (AMEX:CYE),
the leading provider of storage management software worldwide, announced
today that it shipped ARCserve version 6 for NetWare, the latest
generation of storage management technology, during the last few days of
December 1995. ARCserve version 6 incorporates the latest in client/server
technology with mainframe-like systems management features. With this
release, ARCserve customers will find it easier to support heterogeneous
environments of NetWare, Windows NT, Windows 95, UNIX, OS/2 and Macintosh
systems. Overall, ARCserve version 6 will provide enterprise
administrators with greater manageability, scaleability and availability
to client/server data.

"With ARCserve version 6, Cheyenne is maintaining its leadership position
in the storage management arena by providing tighter integration with the
network operating system, vastly increased throughput speeds and greater
automation," commented Yuda Doron, executive vice president and general
manager of the NetWare Division at Cheyenne Software. "We've included a
comprehensive set of checks and balances to ensure the reliability of the
product in today's network environments. Additionally, ARCserve offers
several first-to-market capabilities which make it the most advanced
backup tool available to date."

Michael Peterson of Strategic Research Corporation commented, "This release
is truly a blockbuster in feature richness. Cheyenne will maintain its
leadership position in the storage management arena. The performance
enhancements alone will be very helpful to those concerned with backing up
their growing storage environments within a constrained period of time.
File-based interleaving, RAID-5 for tape, push agents and multiple SCSI
board support will allow vast increases in speed."

Mr. Savio Chan, vice president at Micro 2000 Computer Center, added that
"ARCserve version 6 enables network administrators to better manage
ever-increasing amounts of data. We found that it fully protects the NDS
database, significantly increases backup performance, and provides new
disaster recovery capabilities. Better manageability was facilitated by a
new user-friendly interface, automated installation procedures and
centralized administrative capabilities."

New Pricing Structure

Cheyenne is also introducing a new pricing structure in response to its
customers' needs, dividing the ARCserve marketplace into two segments
according to network size. ARCserve version 6 for NetWare/Workgroup
Edition will run on Novell NetWare/25 users or less; its suggested retail
price is $795. ARCserve version 6 for NetWare/Enterprise Edition will run
on Novell networks with more than 25 users; its suggested retail price is
$1895. In addition, ARCserve options are priced separately to allow users
to purchase according to their storage management needs. The RAID-5 Fault
Tolerance Option is designed to support tape arrays, and is priced at
$1995. The File Interleaving Push Agents are designed to optimize the
performance of remote server backup, and is priced at $495. ARCserve
version 6 will also be available in French, German, Italian, Japanese, and
Spanish soon.
