MURDER MYSTERY CD-ROM DELIVERS A SHOCKER:
A COMPUTER GAME THE ENTIRE FAMILY CAN ENJOY!

In the tradition of classic board games, Foul Play -- Mystery At Awkward
Manor lets the whole family in on the fun.

NEW YORK, January 24, 1996 -- Perhaps the biggest legacy of the 1995
holiday season is the increase in home computer households. The questions
now is, what's available that the whole family can play?

There are children's titles galore, but they're kids-only material.
Reference titles have broad appeal and are useful, but not much fun. And
the endless variety of shoot 'em up games aren't everyone's idea of family
entertainment. But there is a title that the entire family can enjoy. It's
a high tech version of an old fashioned "whodunit" called Foul Play --
Mystery At Awkward Manor that everyone can play together, from a
seven-year-old up to mom and dad.

Each player works to solve the mystery of who murdered Sir John Stiffning,
who has been done in by a house guest at his Victorian mansion. Players
search the 14 rooms and interrogate guests in an effort to determine where
the murder took place, with what weapon and most importantly by whom.

Foul Play can be played by up to six people, with ten different difficulty
levels, allowing family-members of all ages to solve the mystery on an
even basis in a way that few other games do. There are literally thousands
f hiding places in which the murderer may have left the murder weapon or
evidence of his or her presence.

When the game is loaded, these and other clues are randomly positioned by
the program around the house, posing some 4,700 different solutions to the
mystery. This means that no player will ever experience the same game
twice.

Furthermore, help is instantly available at any point in the game through
an extensive audio tutorial that shows how the game works and provides
hints to help solve each mystery. As an aid to younger or less experienced
players, each person's turn is timed and it's possible to shorten the time
allotted for more experienced players. This helps equalize abilities, and
makes the game especially suitable for enjoyment by an entire family.
Typically, a game will take 30 minutes to solve at the lower levels, and
about one hour at the highest difficulty level.

Foul Play is further enhanced by Virtual Travel technology that uses
photo-realistic images derived from 5,000 actual photographs to create a
real-life environment, and blends them with real character animations
using live actors. With 40 360-degree panoramas in the game, players can
search every inch of the grand house for clues.

Foul Play is available immediately in the Macintosh format, and has been
accelerated for optimum performance with PowerPC computers. A Windows
version will be available in late-February. The Macintosh version carries
a suggested retail price of $49.95.
