Adaptive Solutions Powershop Sweeps Best Product Awards

BEAVERTON, Oregon--January 3, 1996--Adaptive Solutions (NASDAQ:ADSO) today
announced that its PowerShop accelerator board is the winner of three
best-of-class awards from premier desktop publishing magazines. MacUser
honored Adaptive Solutions with a Best New Accelerator "Eddy" award,
describing it as "the smartest $2,000 a Photoshop user can spend."
Computer Artist recognized PowerShop in its "Top Ten" products of the
year, and Photo Electronic Imaging bestowed Adaptive with the "Cool2"
award for being the best imaging accelerator of 1995.

In all cases, editors from each publication nominated, evaluated and
selected winners based on technological innovation, quality, performance,
ease-of-use, broadness in scope and affordability. The MacUser "Eddy
Award" recognizes the best Macintosh hardware and software products
released during the year. Computer Artist honors outstanding contributions
to artists' and designers' toolboxes, while Photo Electronic Imaging's
"Cool2" award recognizes the most desirable, "cool to the second power,"
imaging products.

"To be selected best-of-the-best from a publication's in-house staff that
actually uses products like PowerShop is a real honor," said Bob Anundson,
vice president and general manager, Prepress for Adaptive Solutions. "When
an artist, desktop publisher or designer is in creative mode, every second
counts. They see how fast PowerShop speeds up their ability to experiment
with design techniques and they understand the value." PowerShop, the
world's fastest Adobe Photoshop accelerator, accelerates Photoshop
functions by factors of up to 1,000 percent over the fastest Macintosh
systems, delivering unmatched speed increases to computation-intensive
tasks such as unsharp mask, rotate, color transformations, Gaussian blur
and many others. The PowerShop acceleration family is composed of two
products- -PowerShop/NuBus and PowerShop/PCI--and has a street price of
around $2,000. For more information on the awards Adaptive Solutions'
