Adobe Systems Plans Expansion in Greater Seattle

Third-largest Personal Computer Software Firm Investigating Sites in
Seattle and on Eastside

Seattle, Wash. (December 7, 1995) (Nasdaq:ADBE)--Adobe Systems Incorporated
today announced that it is investigating sites for a 310,000 square foot
facility in the greater Seattle area to consolidate its operations and
provide for expansion. In addition to looking at build-to-suit sites,
Adobe will analyze a redevelopment of its existing Pioneer Square
facilities where the company's 550 Seattle employees currently occupy two
buildings.

Following its September 1994 merger with Aldus Corporation, Mountain View,
Calif.-based Adobe centralized several operations at its Seattle facility.
In addition to the company's sales operations, technical and customer
support and advanced technology research, Adobe's Seattle employees are
responsible for the development of several of Adobe's award-winning
products including Adobe PageMaker, Adobe Persuasion and Adobe After
Effects.

"Adobe's Seattle employees are essential to the company's continued success
and we are firmly com-mitted to growing our presence in the Puget Sound
area. A new facility is necessary to accommodate our growth here," said
John Brandon, vice president and general manager of Adobe Systems in
Seattle. Adobe will announce its site selection in the first quarter of
1996. The new facility, which will house up to 750 employees, is scheduled
to be completed in early 1998.

"After more than a year of research we have a short list of potential sites
in the greater Seattle area that meet Adobe's criteria," said real estate
consultant Craig Kinzer. "We will continue to examine these sites for the
next few months to determine the best fit."
