ACC BROADENS ITS POPULAR YUKON PRODUCT LINE

New ISDN interface makes Yukon the ideal access solution for small and
remote office users

Santa Barbara, Calif. (December 11, 1995) -- Advanced Computer
Communications, Inc. (ACC), the leading provider of network access
solutions for the home, office, and enterprise, today introduced two
additions to the Yukon product family: Yukon IP Bridge/Router with U
interface and Yukon IP/IPX Bridge/Router with U interface. Now users have
the option of utilizing either the S/T or the U interface for ISDN
connectivity.

This new interface allows for direct connection to an ISDN network and
eliminates the need for an external NT1 device. The Yukon with U interface
reduces equipment costs and eases the complexity of connecting directly
into the ISDN network.

The Yukon product family features full support of bridging and routing
protocols, and includes ACC's exclusive Bandwidth Optimization technology
to dramatically reduce network operating costs. Yukon is ideal for small
branch offices in need of ISDN connectivity to regional or corporate
locations, or for connection to the Internet.

Easy to install, Yukon features a single autosensing Ethernet interface
that can accommodate either 10BaseT or AUI network connections, and an
ISDN 2B+D Basic Rate Interface. By using PPP as the link protocol, Yukon
can interconnect with ISDN bridges and routers from other vendors.

"With the introduction of the U interface for the Yukon, ACC now offers a
scalable ISDN solution that supports users in small branch and home
locations," said Peter Curtin, ACC's director of product marketing. "The U
interface offers users the ability to cut network equipment costs while
expanding into the ISDN market at a price/performance that is going to be
hard to beat."

Versatility in Application

The Yukon with U interface can be ordered with two different software
packages. Yukon IP includes true network-level routing of TCP/IP, along
with concurrent 802.1D bridging. This software package is appropriate for
users interested in Internet access, or IP-centric applications. A second
package supports network-level TCP/IP and Novell IPX routing with
concurrent bridging. This model is appropriate for the small office
environment where Novell Netware is the dominant OS.

Bandwidth Optimization Provides Maximum Performance

Yukon supports ACC's exclusive Bandwidth Optimization features at no
additional charge. These features include Data Compression, Express
Queuing, and advanced dialing techniques. Data Compression increases the
amount of information sent over the ISDN link by a factor of 4:1. This
means faster data transfers and faster Internet Web access, all resulting
in less connect time. Express Queuing provides automatic dynamic
allocation of available bandwidth on a per session basis, yielding
predictable network response times. Dial on Demand initiates calls only
when there is actual data to be transferred. Most importantly, these
Bandwidth Optimization features can be used together to provide maximum
performance when accessing corporate databases or surfing the Internet
while achieving maximum savings.

Pricing and Availability

Yukon IP and Yukon IP/IPX, both with U interface, are available for
immediate shipment.
