A. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

	Retirement Strategizer is an integrated suite of retirement
planning tools exploiting the full power of Excel 5. The first tool
helps make a realistic estimate of your retirement spending power. The
second tool allows you to quickly evaluate the effect of variations in
your underlying assumptions. The final tool (available with the
registered version) gives you a year-by-year Forecast of your
investment assets, expenditures, and sources of income.

	Note: In the following instructions, names within brackets {}
designate directory names, file names, or other names used by Excel
(without the brackets). These names are written with a mix of lower-
and upper-case characters for ease of interpretation. The names have
the same meaning when they appear elsewhere with either all upper- or
all lower-case characters.

B. WHATS NEW IN RELEASE 2.0

1. The registered version can now be delivered with the speed of E-
Mail. Users who register are sent a code (by return E-Mail) that
unlocks the features of the registered version.

2. Contributions to Deferred Assets can be specified on a year-by-year
basis in Forecast. Tax-free withdrawal of the non-deductible portion
of Deferred Assets is now accounted for.

3. A wide range of performance, useability and cosmetic improvements have been made.

D. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

	Software required: Microsoft Excel 5.

	Hardware required: Same as for Excel 5. Note that Excel 5 may
have significantly better speed performance if the memory size of your
computer is greater than the specified minimum of 4M. You may notice
improved performance if you close other applications when you run
Excel.

E. QUICKSTART GUIDE

	Create the sub-directory {RetStrat} in your main Excel 5
directory. Copy all files into {RetStrat}. From Excel, open
{RunStrat.xla}.

F. DETAILED INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Copy Files into {RetStrat} Directory

	Using the Windows File Manager, click the directory that
contains the {excel.exe} file for Excel 5. Click {File}, {Create
Directory} and enter the name: {RetStrat}. Copy all the files into
{RetStrat}.

2. How to Create an Icon to Start the Retirement Strategizer

	The following describes how to create an icon that will run the
Retirement Strategizer when you double-click it. Refer to the Windows
Users Guide for further details. Skip this step if you prefer to run
the Retirement Strategizer from Excel.

a. From the Windows Program Manager, make a copy of the Icon for
Excel-5 by holding down the CTRL key and dragging the copy to a new
location.

b. Click File Properties; then enter the following in the Program Item
Properties box:

Description:	{Retirement Strategizer}

Command Line:	{c:\excel5\excel.exe c:\excel5\RetStrat\RunStrat.xla}

Working Directory:	{c:\excel5\RetStrat}

(In the above, it is assumed that {c:\excel5} is the location of your
{excel.exe} file. If this is not the case, modify as required.)

G. STARTING THE RETIREMENT STRATEGIZER

1. Starting from an Icon

	If you created an icon as described above, you can start the
Retirement Stratigizer by simply double-clicking the icon. After
exiting the Retirement Strategizer, you should exit Excel before
double-clicking the icon again (otherwise there will be multiple
copies of Excel running at the same time).

2. Starting from Excel

	After starting Excel, open the file {RunStrat.xla} from the
{RetStrat} directory.
	If you exit the Retirement Strategizer and later wish to re-
start it before exiting Excel, you must click File Open and select
{RunStrat.xla}. Do not simply click {RunStrat.xla} from the list of
most-recently used files at the bottom of the File menu.
