EasyDocs For Access 2.0

EasyDocs provides on screen documentation of your MicroSoft Access
version 2.0 database. You can select the type of object and the
specific objects you want analyzed.

The properties of the analyzed objects are displayed in a 
data outline control.

The objects you can analyze with EasyDocs are :
Queries, Tables, Forms, Reports, Relations, Macros, Users,
and Groups  


To install EasyDocs

   Note: EasyDocs must be installed on a local drive.

   1. Place the EasyDocs.Exe self extracting file in an empty
      directory on your local drive.

   2. Run the EasyDocs.Exe self extracting file 
   
   3. Copy the folowing files into your Access 2.0 installation
      directory. This is the directory that contains 
      the MSACCESS.EXE file :

      OUTL1016.OCX
      EASYDOCS.MDA

   4. Copy OC1016.DLL into your Windows\System directory
   
   5. Open an Access 2.0 database.

   The following steps are referenced on Page 364 of 
   'Building Applications'
  
   4. From the File menu select Add-in Manager.
   
   5. From the Available Libraries list box choose EasyDocs
      for Access 2.0
   
   6. Select the Install button.


To install the custom control used by EasyDocs

   Note: Ignore this section if you have already installed the 
         Data Outline custom control.

   1. Follow steps 1,2 and 4 on page 324 of the Microsoft Access
      User's Guide to create a new form that is not based on a 
      table or query.

   2. From the Edit Menu select Insert Object.

   3. From the Insert Object dialog choose the Insert Control
      option button.

      The screen will change to display a Control Type List box.
      If the Data Outline control is listed, then skip to step 7, 
      because the custom control is already installed. 

   4. From the Insert Object dialog select the Add Control button.
      The Add Control dialog box will appear.

   5. From the Add Control dialog box go to the Microsoft Access
      installation directory and select OUTL1016.OCX. Choose OK. 
      The Insert Object dialog box will appear, and the 
      Data Outline Control will now be listed in the Control Type
      list box.

   7. Choose Cancel from the Insert Object dialog that contains
      the Control Type list box.

   8. Choose Cancel from the Insert Object dialog that contains
      the Object Type list box.

   9. Close and do not save the form. 

To Start the EasyDocs Add-in. 

   1. Open a local Microsoft Access 2.0 database.
   
   2. From the File Menu, choose Add-ins.

   3. From the Add-ins submenu choose 'Analyze Database Objects'.

To Use the EasyDocs Analysis Form

   1. Select the type of object you would like to analyze.

   2. From the list of available objects, select those you would 
      like to analyze.

   3. Choose the Analyze button to analyze the selected objects.

   4. Choose the Review button to review the analysis results.
  

To Use the EasyDocs Review Form

   1. The review form is a level outline of objects and their 
      sections and properties.

   2. Click on the '+' sign at any level to list the next 
      level of detail.

   3. You may also use the navigation buttons to expand, collapse,
      and go to various levels.


To Report Bugs and Make Suggestions

   Note: You have an option to remove the analysis tables that Easydocs
         creates in the database you are analyzing. This option leaves
         two and sometimes three md_xxxxx tables in the database window. To 
         delete the remaining tables, close your data base. Then reopen
         your database, select the md_xxxxx tables and delete them.

Registration Information

   When you register your registered copy will include a help file,
   user guide and analysis reporting capabilities.
