ALL ViewMagic COLOR MONITORS NOW EPA APPROVED "ENERGY STARS"

Full Line Of 10, 14, 15 and 17-inch Monitors Goes Green For Earth Day

Fremont, CA -- April 21, 1994 -- ETC Computer, Inc., a rising player in the
monitor market, announced that its full line of 10-, 14-, 15- and 17-inch
ViewMagic -brand monitors now meet the U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency's specifications for low power consumption. By complying with this
voluntary program, ETC has earned the right to label its monitors "Energy
Stars."

ViewMagic Energy Star monitors incorporate power-management features which
reduce power consumption in the STAND-BY or SUSPEND state to 30 watts or
less, as required by the EPA. These Energy Star monitors have been
nicknamed "green" monitors because they comply with the Executive Order
issued last year on Earth Day, April 21, by President Bill Clinton, that
requires the federal government to buy Energy Star-compliant computers and
peripherals to the maximum extent possible.

This Executive Order was issued to try to reverse the power consumption
trend cited by the EPA which revealed that computers now consume 5 percent
of the United State's commercial energy. The EPA estimated that left
unchecked, this figure could rise to 10 percent by the year 2000.

Kent Huang, president of ETC, said, "In the spirit of Earth Day, we've
entered the powerdown market place. Now our customers can get
full-featured, high-end monitors that are also good for the environment."

The ViewMagic Energy Star monitors are designed for fast response to the
power management signal, providing rapid display recovery from STAND-BY,
SUSPEND or OFF states. An LED indicates the monitor's power-saving state.

ETC recently introduced new 15- and 17-inch ViewMagic flat screen,
microprocessor controlled multiscan color monitors featuring on-screen
displays of user-adjustable settings and What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get
(WYSIWYG) color. Both monitors are designed to provide users with
immediate, precise and easy to understand confirmations of all settings
and adjustments, including both foreground and background color, vertical
and horizontal position, rotation (tilted image), pincushion (bowed
sides), or trapezoid (bowed top or bottom) screen distortions.

Designed for high-resolution color applications running on IBM PC/XT/AT,
PS/2 and Apple Macintosh II systems, both monitors use a powerful Motorola
chipset for accurate and immediate processing of all user adjustments. The
17-inch model also includes a manual degaussing control that allows the
user to demagnetize the CRT at any time to eliminate uneven color spots.
(This is in addition to the auto degaussing feature included in all
ViewMagic monitors that automatically refreshes the purity of the video
display.)

ViewMagic monitors are the industry's first full-featured, high-end
monitors priced within reach of most mainstream computer users. The 14-,
15- and 17-inch models feature LCD or LED indicators of user-selectable
controls and adjustments conveniently located on the front panel.

The company also markets a line of 10-inch professional display monitors
which are considered the industry's de facto standard for small-screen
monitors based on their predominance in the financial (Automated Teller
Machines or ATMs), retail (Point of Sale or POS systems), defense and
industrial instrument markets.

ETC monitors are available separately and in OEM quantities as a branded
ViewMagic PreciseColor or private-label products, and are backed by a
two-year warranty.

ETC Computer, Inc. is a subsidiary of the ETC Group, which includes three
manufacturing films producing monitors, systems and auxiliary components
