CASCADE TECHNOLOGIES ANNOUNCES RELEASE OF CASCADE VOICE TOOLS VERSION 2.01

(April 25, 1994; New York, NY) Cascade Technologies announced today that it
has released Cascade Voice Tools version 2.01, the company's application
generator for interactive voice response systems. According to Cascade,
this latest version of Voice Tools contains over l 00 new features and
enhancements and represents pro-active monitoring of the voice processing
industry for technical enhancements as well as an in-depth analysis of
user requests and market requirements.

Cascade Voice Tools includes a development module for scripting and
recording as well as a runtime system that operates under OS/2, to provide
simultaneous call processing options and database integration within a
wide range of technical platforms. "We take full advantage of the power
and flexibility OS/2 offers including true multitasking, the large memory
model and a wide range of connectivity options; critical requirements for
most voice processing applications," cited Michael F. George, Cascade's
Vice President of Marketing & Sales. "The maturity and stability of our
underlying design has resulted in extremely reliable systems that work
with the operating system directly."

"For organizations looking at client-server technology, Cascade Voice Tools
is an ideal solution," noted Frank Joicy, Chief Technical Officer at
Cascade. "As a 'Voice Server', the system responds to caller requests and
can make queries of multiple application servers (and other computer
resources) simultaneously to fulfill those requests." With Cascade Voice
Tools 2.01, the system has native database support for dBase III Plus,
dBase IV, Btrieve, and Oracle file formats, all utilizing standard SQL
syntax. This is of particular importance for companies looking at
standards in computer architectures, vendor design philosophy, operating
systems, and database management systems. The company is currently working
on similar support for Sybase and SQL Server for Windows NT. "Our array of
native database support makes it easy and very cost-effective to integrate
Voice Tools with third party and internal systems, especially when we are
in a client-server or networked environment" added Joicy.

The new release of Cascade Voice Tools also provides for an integrated call
center facility. With this option, Voice Tools acts as an automated IVR
front-end to customer service representatives. Voice Tools handles the
majority of frequently asked questions, but if a caller needs to speak to
someone, the system transfers the caller along with their specific data,
to the appropriate service representative. The caller may then be greeted
by name and serviced quickly and efficiently.
