IBM ANNOUNCES ADVANCED SERVER FOR WORKGROUPS, A POWERFUL AND AFFORDABLE
GROUPWARE SOLUTION

AUSTIN, Texas, April 13, 1994 ... IBM today announced the availability of
Advanced Server for Workgroups, a suite of industry-leading groupware
functions from IBM and Lotus Development Corporation, which together
provide a powerful workgroup computing solution at a very attractive
price.

IBM Advanced Server for Workgroups combines IBM's OS/2 2.11, LAN Server
Advanced 3.0, System Performance Monitor/2 2.0 and Lotus Notes 3.0 on
CD-ROM with a single integrated manual and a videotape to facilitate
installation. The Notes software includes an OS/2 Server and six Lotus
Notes clients.

"IBM Advanced Server for Workgroups brings together the extensive functions
of Lotus Notes and the strength of IBM OS/2 and LAN Server to give
customers a simple and powerful entry into workgroup computing," said Phil
Powers, director of marketing, LAN Systems, for IBM's Personal Software
Products division. "With this product, customers can easily install and be
productive in a LAN groupware environment at a very attractive price."

The Lotus Notes component of Advanced Server for Workgroups provides users
with knowledge-sharing applications, mail and messaging capabilities, a
development environment for distributed applications, and discussion and
collaboration databases. OS/2 2.11 provides the "workplace shell"
graphical user interface and lets users run OS/2, DOS and Microsoft
Windows applications simultaneously. IBM's LAN Server Advanced provides
high performance resource management across the network with the fault
tolerance and security features customers require. IBM's System
Performance Monitor/2 2.0 enables load balancing and performance tuning.

"The IBM Advanced Server for Workgroups gives customers a powerful solution
for supporting information-sharing and collaboration in a platform-diverse
environment," said John Landry, senior vice president of software
development and chief technology officer for Lotus Development
Corporation. "This package also offers customers an easy way to install
Notes as well as an immediate service option that can accelerate their
return on investment."

The product is scalable from small LANs to large enterprise-wide,
interconnected networks. It is ideal for customers seeking an entry point
for workgroup computing and for large corporations which need to share
applications over the LAN, across the nation and around the world.

In addition to the single installation guide and videotape, IBM Advanced
Server for Workgroups comes with 90 days of IBM customer support and a
U.S. promotional offer for a discount on IBM consulting services for
application design, implementation, and customization of Lotus Notes
applications.

IBM Advanced Server for Workgroups will be available April 15, 1994 in the
United States and Canada directly from IBM and from software resellers
shortly thereafter, for a list price of $4,695. The product has been
certified by IBM's Integration Test Lab in Austin, Texas, as "Tested and
Approved for LAN Systems."

IBM's Personal Software Products division, which is headquartered in
Austin, Texas, is an industry leader in the development of operating
systems, including PC DOS and OS/2, as well as networking software and
