Page 7 of 17 LAYERS

AcroSpin allows you to put your object's points and lines into groups called
layers, which you can individually turn on and off (even while the object is
moving). Each layer is assigned a different number, anywhere in the range from
0 to 32767. For example, suppose you have a drawing of a building, including
both its plumbing and electrical wiring. You can put the frame into layer 0,
the plumbing into layer 100, and the electrical wiring into layer 203.

To turn a layer on and off, hold down the L key, type the desired layer number,
and then release the L key. If the layer was off it will turn on, and if it
was on it will turn off. If the layer doesn't exist, nothing will happen.

If you press and release the L key without typing a layer number, then all
layers that were off will turn on. If all layers were already on, then they
will all turn off. This makes it easy to view an individual layer: type L; if
that didn't turn off all the layers, type L again; then hold down L and type
the number of the layer that you wish to view.

The following phenylalanine molecule, courtesy of Doug Henry of Molecular
Design Ltd, has 4 layers numbered from 0 to 3. For your viewing pleasure, most
of the other objects in this tutorial (such as the jet and DNA molecule) also
have layers, numbered consecutively from 0.
