ABSTRACT:

This file contains an updated WLAI.EXE file for LAN Inventory 3.20

SYMPTOM

Updated WLAI.EXE fixes symptoms associated with audit configuration
specifically the ability to collect unidentified software as part
of the audit process. If the older version of WLAI.EXE
is in use, if you check off Fileserver, Workstation, or Macintosh
on the Software Options tab in the Audit Parameters screen,
then exit the tab dialog, the check mark is not saved, and
unidentified software is not collected.

SOLUTION/INSTALLATION

To our registered users:
The executable contained in this patch is not serialized. Before
you copy the new patch file in, to preserve your existing serial
number, please run the old WLAI.EXE and select "Help" "About"
from the main menu. From the resulting About box, please record
your serial number so that you can serialize your new LAN Inventory
executable. If you are not sure if your copy of LAN Inventory is registered,
you can check by executing WLAI.EXE. If your copy is not registered,
the splash screen and About box will say "EVALUATION COPY".
If you are still in the process of evaluating LAN Inventory, it is not
necessary for you to serialize the exe or note your serial number.

Installing the new WLAI.EXE
Exit the LAN Inventory console on all workstations.
Copy the new WLAI.EXE file to the WLAI.320 program directory.

ReSerializing your new WLAI.EXE
Launch your new WLAI.EXE from the WLAI.320 program directory.
Select "Help" "About". In the resulting about box, place the
mouse cursor over the red McAfee bitmap in this about box.
Simultaneously depress the LEFT Ctrl and LEFT Shift key while
double clicking on the bitmap with the RIGHT mouse button.
A message box will pop up, confirming that you want to exit
LAN Inventory. Click on the "OK" button, and an "Enter Serial Number"
dialog will be displayed. Please enter the serial number that you
recorded before installing this patch, and click on the "OK" button.
LAN Inventory will then relaunch.
