                NOTES ON USING STARTER.EXE 1.0:
===================================================================

STARTER.EXE is a small utility program that makes it easy to
switch between different Microsoft Access SYSTEM.MDA configurations.
It works by setting the SystemDB setting in the MSACCESS.INI file
before launching MSACCESS.EXE. This lets you easily maintain various
workgroup configurations. You must have VBRUN300.DLL to use this
program.

This program is distributed "as is" without warranty by Mike Gilbert
and Meliora Systems, Inc., 95 Allens Creek Rd., Bdlg. 2, Suite 302,
Rochester, NY 14618. (716) 461-1900. CIS: 70742,3173.

You may copy and distribute STARTER.EXE freely as long as you include
this README.TXT file along with the program file.

To use STARTER.EXE:

  1. Copy STARTER.EXE to your Access (or other) directory.

  2. Select File|New from Program Manager and select Program Item.

  3. In the Command Line box of the Properties dialog enter the
path to STARTER.EXE followed by (1) the path to the SYSTEM.MDA
file you want to use and (2) the path to MSACCESS.EXE. For
      example:

      C:\ACCESS\STARTER.EXE D:\MYSYSTEM\SYSTEM.MDA C:\ACCESS\MSACCESS.EXE

Note: The path to Microsoft Access can include any valid command
      line arguments.

  4. If you want to use a different icon than the default used by
STARTER.EXE, select the Change Icon button.

  5. Save the new program item.

You can now use STARTER.EXE to lanuch Microsoft Access. The program
will attempt to change the workgroup (SYSTEM.MDA) before starting
Access.
