This sample text file can be used to demonstrate the operation of Vocabulary Builder. From the File menu, select "Open Text File," and select this file. Opening a file starts the vocabulary extraction process automatically, adding any new words to the vocabulary list on the left hand side of the program window.

This program might be used by an author of children's books to generate a vocabulary list for educational analysis. Here is an opening sequence for a fairy tale:

Once upon a time there was a princess who lived in a castle on a hill in a kingdom far, far, away. One day the princess climbed the castle stairs up to the highest tower. This tower was made of ivory and from the window she could see the whole kingdom.

In the distance the princess saw a knight in shining armor riding his white charger toward the castle gate. She climbed down the stairs and went to the gate and waited for the knight to arrive.
