** Replace this too if you were using TMPHONE.EXE v3.02.

 What's new
 ==========

. The command line switch /W (Windows Compatibility option) is added to
provide high speed transmission under Windows. By default, Telemate
does not use the transmit interrupt when running under Windows
because the transmit interrupt may lock up some machines completely.
With this switch, both transmit and receive interrupts are used. It
can be added to the TELEMATE.PIF if Telemate can run with it under
   Windows.

. Smart Quoting: [Alt Q] now reformats a normal paragraph and truncates
   an already quoted message.
. A percentage indicator is added to the transfer window.
. The dial list is rearranged after a successful connection or aborted
by the user, so that the next-to-be-dialed entry is placed at the
   beginning of the dial list.
. A Clear screen option is added to the phone directory so that you can
clear the terminal window at log on.

. The phone directory dialog is rearranged. A 'Default' option is added
to dial prefix and suffix in the phone directory dialog. This should
help those who are not aware there is a prefix pointer and a suffix
   pointer in the phone directory.
. The communication dialog is rearranged.
. A Yes/No dialog is added for the Clear [Alt N] command in the Back
   window.
. The Save option dialog is removed. The option will be saved to the
   same configuration file.
. In the file dialog, only the file name part is replaced with the
first alphanumeric character. Previously, the full file name is
   erased.

. If there is no TMCFG environment variable and the TM.CFG cannot be
found in the current directory, Telemate will attempt to load the
configuration file from the same directory that contains TM.EXE.
. The message "Problem opening resource file" is shown if you are using
   an out-dated resource file.
. A random factor is added to the ending screen in the evaluation
version so that it can be more eye-catching.

 What's fixed
 ============

. [Enter] key at the Keypad did not work in the Dial window.
. There was a long delay when jumping to DOS and exiting when a
   MicroSoft Mouse was present.
. The version number in the help window was not updated.
. The COM routine might not work on the DOS box in OS/2.
. Uploading a file might halt the other threads until the transfer was
   done.
. Zmodem transfer might not abort after the user confirmed it.
. The editor sometime made the current line disappear until the next
   key was pressed.
. [Alt S] did not compile scripts with long pathname.
. Telemate now skips checking the directories on drive A: and B: at
startup and in the Options/Directory dialog.
. Path checking did not always work. It now checks the "nul" device
first and then attempt to create a "nul$$$$$.$$$" file. If both
attempts fail, the path does not exist.
. TMPHONE.EXE did not save the phone directory.

 Telemate 3.02 23 June, 1992
 ==============================

 What's new
 ==========

. Windows 3.1 compatible, the mouse pointer in a window now works
   correctly.
. For Microsoft mouse, speed control is left to the mouse driver. The
speed option in the mouse dialog has no effect on Microsoft mouse.
. Add quick search in dial window, e.g. [Ctrl D] jump to the entry.
   starting with the letter 'D'.
. Quote [Alt Q] now reformats the paragraph instead of truncating it.
. Add ^G as [DEL] in Wordstar convention.
. In the file dialog, the default file name is now replaced with the
first alphanumeric character. Previously, a [Ctrl Y] is required
to erase the default file name.
. For MouseSystem, it now checks the IRQ number and allows using COM1
and COM3, or COM2 and COM4 together as long as the IRQ is different.
. The CONNECT string is now put in the backscroll window.
. BUSY4 is changed to "NO DIAL", some modems use "NO DIAL TONE", some
   use "NO DIALTONE".
. DIALPREFIX1 is changed to "AT DT". Many users were not aware that
there is a prefix pointer in the phone directory.
. The auto-download sequence for HSLink external protocol is changed
   to "HS*^BR".
. TMINST.EXE now sets the interrupt number according to the IRQ number
   automatically, unless specified differently.
. TMINST.EXE now change the prefix and suffix in TM.FON if a different
   default prefix/suffix is chosen.
. TMPHONE.EXE now updates the saved dial list in TM.CFG.
 . TMPHONE.EXE now only prints non-blank entries.

 What's fixed
 ============

. Intel 9600EX did not switch baud at BUSY signal.
. ^[[4m did not underline in monochrome monitor.
. Avatar ^V^Y was not recursive.
. ANSI/VT102 control mode (e.g. add line feed) was not reflected in the
   Options/Terminal dialog.

carrier signal wire is missing in the modem cable).
. CIS Quick B protocol could not open read only file.
. Zmodem dit not set the file date correctly.
. FOSSIL connection might disable other COM ports.
. Chat mode did not handle status line and menu bar toggling correctly.

. HOST.SCR did not work on different drive.
. PRINT "^^A" in TMScript printed ^^A, it should print ^A.
. "Set AutoRedial" was misspelled "Set AutoDial" in TMSCRIPT.DOC.
. Load macro only loaded the first 60 characters.
. DIR displayed a read only directory as a normal file.
. DIR /W in DOS window did not add up the file size correctly.
. DIR in DOS window did not check for invalid drive.
. The swap left/right button option in the mouse dialog did not work
   correctly for two buttons mouse.
. When reloading configuration, the connection field did not take effect.
. Path checking did not work correctly on some networks because they do
not support the "nul" device. Now it will attempt to create a
   "nul$$$$$.$$$" file.
 . TMSTAT.EXE interpreted "4:0.3" as "0-4:0.3" in TMSTAT.CFG.

 Telemate 3.01 3 January, 1992
 ================================

In this release, we add a new dialog manager, Avatar 0+, internal
Kermit, enhanced script language and a lot of convenient functions such
as file name tagging, auto redial, keystroke macro sequence and screen
saver. All of them will make telecommunication more enjoyable.

 What's new
 ==========

 Dial Window
 -----------
. Auto Redial upon carrier lost.
. Multiple phone line support, similar names are removed from the
   dial list.
. Select or de-select dial entries with [Spacebar] or mouse click.
. Strip High Bit, Long Distance, Tag Separater and Initial Guessing
   option in phone directory.
. Auto Log (previous Auto Open Log) in phone directory will turn on/off
   the log file automatically.
 . Dial bar color selection.
. Remove (or clear) a dial entry in Dial window.
. Default COM port in Dial window now uses the current COM port.
. Default Baud rate (0) in Dial window.
. Dial Break string, default is "RING^M".
. Reload phone directory if necessary after DOS shell, can use
   TMPHONE.EXE during the DOS shell.

 Terminal Window
 ---------------
 . Avatar 0+ terminal emulation.
 . Prism terminal emulation.
 . Kermit with 8th-bit encoding and run-length-encoding.
 . 4 more (8 total) external protocols.
. Select multiple files with [Spacebar] in directory when uploading.
. Multiple files can now pass to external protocol batch file.
. BIOS 14h and FOSSIL connection.
 . Space and Mark parity.
 . Xmodem-1K.
. Xmodem upload uses a 4K read-ahead buffer if you have enough memory.
. Xmodem download and its variation use the actual name instead of
   "UNKNOWN.$$$" during the download.
. [Alt S] displays both .SCR and .TMS in the script directory.
. Finer pacing in measure of 1/20 seconds instead of 1/10.
. File name guessing accepts digit as starting character.
. The block fields and the remote system field in the transfer
   window are removed.
. Quote margin cuts off the quoting message at the margin instead
   of reformatting it.
. Turn off 16550 FIFO when exit.

 Edit/View/Back/DOS/Clipboard Window
 -----------------------------------
. Tag [Alt G] file names in the Edit, View and Back window. [Alt G] is
a lot like [Alt C] but it copies the only file names in the marked
text. You can select a space (for PCBoard, QBBS, etc), a carriage
return (for Wildcat, etc) or comma (for GENie, etc) as the tag
separater. [Shift Alt G] appends instead of copies.
. Support CUA-like text marking. E.g. Shift-Right will start marking.
[Ctrl Ins] as [Alt C], [Shift Ins] as [Alt P], and [Ctrl Del] as
   [Alt U].
Note: CUA uses [Shift Del] as cut.
 . Clear View window.
. DOS 5's look in the DOS command window.
. DEL in DOS command window support /p as the prompt command.
. INSIDE supports ARJ and ZOO and use /p as pause command.
 . Larger Clipboard.
. Tag file names and Clear in Clipboard.

 Macro
 -----
. ^- keystroke simulation macro symbol which generate keystroke
as if they are typed in from the keyboard.
. In ^= macro sequence, you can add a ^[ after the ^M if you want
to hide the DOS command window after executing the command.
. Redefinable F1, PgUp and PgDn keys.
. Support for enhanced keyboard, redefinable extra cursor keys.
. Doorway mode supports enhanced keyboard.
. Seperation of [Ctrl H] and [Back space].

 Dialog/Option
 -------------
. Enhanced dialog manager supports hot-key using a single character key
or an alt key combo. [Tab]/[Shift Tab] will jump to the next/previous
group. [Up]/[Down] will move to the next/previous item. Only one
[Enter], instead of two, is needed to activate the default button.
. Maximum DOS shell. When On, RTS will be dropped if RTS/CTS flow
control is On. Otherwise, the COM port will be disabled during the
DOS shell and incoming data will be lost. So this option should be
turned on only if you use RTS/CTS flow control.
. Date format now can has 9 values (0-8)
         0 = MM-DD-YY,   1 = DD-MM-YY,   2 = YY-MM-DD
         3 = MM/DD/YY,   4 = DD/MM/YY,   5 = YY/MM/DD
         6 = MM.DD.YY,   7 = DD.MM.YY,   8 = YY.MM.DD

   COM port parameters in TM.CFG.

 Script
 ------
 . New SET commands:
     SET AutoStop,Off/On.
When On, the script will be halted upon carrier lost. This
special option is reset to Off at the beginning of every script.
     SET MaxDosShell,Off/On
     SET DateFormat,0-8
     SET ScreenSaver,0-99
     SET LogFilter,Off/On
     SET LogHeading,Off/On
     SET ExtAlarm,Off/On
     SET AutoRedial,Off/On
     SET MultiLine,Off/On
     SET Tag,Space/Crlf/Comma
     SET DirTelemate,""
     SET DirDownload,""
     SET DirEdit,""
     SET DirImage,""
     SET DirLog,""
     SET DirScript,""

. Improved SET command: all SET commands now accept integer as well as
the token (e.g. 'On','Off','TTY','ANSI' etc). A value of 0 is
interperted as 'Off', 1 is 'On'. Others are shown as follows:
       SET Connection, Modem(0)/Computer(1)/Fossil(2)/BIOS(3)

       SET Tag, Space(0)/Crlf(1)/Comma(2)

. QUERY command: all options that can be set by the SET command can be
queried by the QUERY command. It returned the corresponding string or
integer (not token). In addition, the QUERY command accept BOARD,
PHONE, PASSWORD, TOTAL, LASTCALL and MEMO.

. KEYSTROKE command in the script. This is an equivalent to the
keystroke macro except it does not need the '^-' symbol.

. CONNECTED reports the BBS # connected
. LOADMAC, LOADPAD and LOADKEY: Same as LOADFON
 . CONVERTDATE procedure in TOOLBOX3.SCR
 . FILEEXIST supports wildcard
 . DELETE supports wildcard.
. Adds 'SET AUTOSTOP,ON' in script generated by LEARN

. HOST.SCR is improved so that it detects the correctness of the
carrier signal and issues the "AT&C1" command when necessary. This is
the answer to the most asked question of 'why my host script does not
work?'. It also restores all the options after the host mode is
   ended.

 Others
 ------
. TMINST.EXE can define the base address, the IRQ and interrupt number
   of a COM port.
