CyberCrime International Network

Network Rules and Regulations

Last Updated - July 4, 1995.

1) File Distribution:

    A) DO NOT DISTRIBUTE THE CYBERCRIME NODELISTS (CCI-NODE.###)! Due to the
range of topics contained within CyberCrime, security is quite
obviously an issue. Any sysop found to be giving out copies (or even
A copy) of the CCi nodelist will be unconditionally and permanently
       expelled from this network.

    B) The CCI!-###.ZIP packs may be distributed without restraints. Send it
everywhere. Please. The more people that know about CyberCrime, the
more applications we will get. Do not worry about low quality systems
being accepted - this application process is EXTREMELY strict, and
only quality, well-known boards will be accepted to this network.

2) Quality is the #1 issue in CyberCrime.

   A) Oneliners, flames, etc, are NOT tolerated under ANY circumstances.
This is NOT a free-for-all network!

   B) Users posting any trash in CyberCrime will be warned once, then will
be removed. If you get a notice or letter telling you to remove a
user's access to CyberCrime, DO IT IMMEDIATELY!

   C) Three warnings against different users on your system will spell your
system's permanent removal from CyberCrime. Period. If you have any
doubt as to the ability of your users to post quality messages, then
restrict CyberCrime to only your best users. This is NOT a free
information network - restriction is the key, and only the top users
are supposed to be accessing this network.

3) The former guideline of "Only one node per Area Code", has been lifted.
Due to the apparent torrent of interest that this network will be
generating, we don't want to forceably exclude any systems that would
otherwise be interested in carrying the network. So, from here on out,
we'll make it this way: New nodes MAY be accepted into an area code that
is already inhabited, but - all current sysops in that area code MUST
agree to allow the new node in. One "hell no", and the prospective
applicant is denied access. Of course, this introduces a whole political
element, wherein one sysop may be pissed off at another, get CyberCrime,
and deny the other one admittance. Unfortunately, that's life. :)

That's all. However, be warned that I reserve the right to remove your
system from CyberCrime INSTANTLY, on any moment's notice, for any reason
whatsoever. Do NOT cross me. However, do not expect to be kicked out the
network just for saying "Fuck off, Mitch." It'll take a BIT more than that.
:)
