Museo ArchelogicoThis archaeological museum was, like so many things in Florence, begun by the Medici family. The museum preserves a number of ancient Greek and Egyptian artifacts, but the real treasure here is the Etruscan section. Included are reconstructions of tombs as well as masterpieces such as a 4th-century BC bronze Chimera, a mythic beast with the heads of a lion, snake, and goat. Besides Etruscan vases and sarcophagi, there are a number of Greek-influenced statues on display.
