I know some of you are 100% HTML-heads, and I am one too, but I won't be able to get the news up on the web in any other way at the moment. I didn't put the scroller on the homepage (first page) at least - so those who are not interested / hate java-shockwave-scripts-etc, don't have to see it. Next project is probably a free-text search of the Digest archive - but I'm not sure when I'll find the time to do it, so... when it happens, it happens. Any suggestions on stuff you miss on the site? //Erik ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 9 Mar 1998 09:13:45 +0100 (MET) From: Karl Morten Dahl Subject: Yo La Tengo on P3 tonite, PLEASE HELP! Seems like "If You Were Here" is doing pretty well at the moment at least. It was 4th on the "most wanted" videos played on MTV Europe yesterday. Pretty funny to see the Swedish video "dubbed" in that way - in the the English version you never get to see Jocke's mouth when he sings. ;) Kind of scary to hear it in English the first times too.. > And they rather support the Finnish hockey team because of their moms ! I can hear some similarities between their latest albums (at least I think I can). I remember that I only had heard a couple of chords of "Saker man ser" before I said "VERVE" to myself. Sounded very "Drugs dont work"-ish to me. And I would certainly not have been extremely surprised if that tune and a couple of the other on "Isola" had been on "Urban hymns" instead (I might have been a bit surprised if they had been there with Swedish texts, perhaps). Timo, you mentioned the new one > (Pori, that was ?), what about it ? yeah, between Hissi and the new one, Pori, there's Fraten and a split 7" with Disco... i'm really not the expert on these guys, except that Hissi, Fraten and Pori are the more krautrocking ones, and their first ones Meronia and Zopalki more on the clod crusher side of things... i'm still rather spending my money on the original krautrock stuff like Can, Faust & Amon Duul (II), and some of the american and japanese genre, but maybe when i've gone through those i'll go buy some Circle. just a personal preferance. How about the new mutiny? 270 reviews is a pretty respectable amount... i've always thought of the guy, JMT, as a real serious case of music freakdom, so i was naturally a little scared when i noticed that i had stuff that even he hasn't got... maybe i should calm down with the record buying.
