                Legal Beagles: Boy Was THAT Suit A Dog!

 The Suit: In 1991 Bonnette Askew told her husband Ronald that even after   
           more than 10 years of marriage, although she loved him deeply    
           she had never found him to be sexually attractive to her. Ronald 
           sued her for fraud saying he "wouldn't have married her had (he) 
           known her feelings."                                             
                                                                            
 Verdict : He won. He was awarded $242,000 in damages to boot! Eeeek!

 The Suit: In 1992, almost 2 months before the wedding was supposed to take 
           place between Frank Zaffere (a Chicago lawyer) and Maria Dillon, 
           Dillon called off the engagement.  In response, Zaffere sued her 
           for $40,310.48 to cover his "lost courting expenses".  Then in a 
           letter to Dillon, he told her "I am still willing to marry you   
           on the conditions herein below set forth:                        
           1) We proceed with our marriage within 45 days of the date of    
           this letter;                                                     
           2) You confirm [that you]...will forever be faithful to me;      
           3) You promise...that you will never lie to me again about       
           anything."                                                       
 Verdict : The case was dismissed.
