 * Famed comic, Charlie Chaplin, got his start in show biz by going on for  
   his mother when she lost her voice.  He was the tender age of five.  He  
   went out to sing and the audience started throwing money onto the stage  
   and Charlie stopped, told the audience he would pick up the money first  
   then finish the song.  He got a big laugh and that was the start of it!  
 * 1929 was the celebration of the second anniversary of "talkies" in the   
   motion picture business.  In just two short years the movies drew about  
   one hundred million customers a week in the U.S. alone.                  
 * Charlie McCarthy, not Edgar Bergen, was given an honorary degree from    
   Northwestern University.                                                 
 * James Watson, was a Quiz Kid on the popular radio program of the same    
   name.  James went on to win the Nobel Prize, along with Francis Crick,   
   for the discovery of deoxyribonucleic acid or DNA.                       
 * Richard Rodgers took only five hours to compose the overture, the ballet 
   music and the songs for Oklahoma!                                        
 * The first film copyrighted in the U.S. was in 1894: a man sneezing.
