 I MYTHed That One!

MYTH: Those who talk about suicide don't intend doing it. Else they would
        not talk about it.
FACT: This is just not true. Many people have believed this for years.
But truth is, if a person is talking about suicide it is because
they are reaching out for help. If that help is not forthcoming,
the alternative to them may be suicide.
MYTH: There are such things as "hoot owls" and "screech owls."
FACT: There is not such species of owl called a "hoot" owl. Though
the barred owl makes a hooting sound. The Screech owl was not
given the name because of its sound, because in reality it makes
a very soft wail, not a screech.
MYTH: Shakespeare's phrase: "Get thee to a nunnery!" means to get to a
        convent.
FACT: In today's terminology this is generally what the audience thinks
is being stated. However, in Shakespeare's time the word, nunnery,
        meant whorehouse.
MYTH: German silver is outstanding and has great value. It is desired by
many to own authentic German silver.
FACT: Though a great many people want to own German silver, there is no
silver in it at all; it is made from copper, zinc and nickel.
