This textfile gives a description of the development with Delay Calculator. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 93-10-26...v1.0 Finally release after weeks of de-bugging my usage of GEM. This is the first official version. v1.0S (Swedish) and v1.0E (English) were released. Known bugs : No, not a single one...:-) The program CAN have some minor graphics errors in MultiTOS, but nothing that makes the program crash. 94-04-08...v1.1 Finally released after MONTHS of polishing, de-bugging and re-smurfing. This should be regarded as a MAJOR update. What's new: ----------- o The program is much more nice-looking now. o A new entry called BPM Calculator. The name says it all. read DELAY_CA.TXT for more info. o I've included a 3rd delay line in the delay calculation. o Manual totally re-written. Read it again, and you'll understand everything you didn't understand the first time. o The meduim-resolution RSC-file is now load:ed auto- magically. What's dropped: --------------- o The idea of letting a function to convert BPM/Hz to normal synthesizers irregular value-input (ex. LFO Speed 0-100), is also dropped. If you wonder why, try doing it for yourself. It would take too much time. But if I find another way (easy) to do this, I will re-consider it. o Also the MultiTOS idea is dropped. Use MultiDialog instead. Besides... It's not THAT important that it will multitask. What's considered: ------------------ o I will probably make the Hz-function style compatible in the next update (v1.2). o Note-representation of the delays. o The Delay Creator will probably be released with the v1.2. Only an English version was released. And still no bugs in sight. 94-05-21...v1.2 Bug-fixed version! Bugfix: ------- o A really nasty bug was discovered, under 24 hour hard-test. This bug could lead to a system-collapse (crash). To get rid of it I had to re-write the main part of the program. o If you would boot the computer in low-rez, and using the program as an accessory, the system would crash after the "I WON'T RUN IN LOW RESOLUTION" box. This is now fixed. The box will still appear, but the crash is avoided. Other fixes: ------------ o In earlier version I used a BIOS call to check the resoultion. This solution is not very good as newer resolutions that came with the TT and the Falcon could use the same BIOS-value. The program does now correctly examine the current resolution and will therefore be more compatible with future TOS-versions, and graphic cards. IMPORTANT! ---------- I LOVE SHAREWARE! People really do care about it... Hmpf! TWO registrations! It makes me wonder why I bother releasing it. If you want to see a v1.3 OUTSIDE my studio. I want to see some support. I wrote this program for my own needs, and if no-one is needing this program, I won't bother you. But the strange thing about it is, that EVERYBODY I've spoken with, especially those with Mac's, PC's or Amiga's, do think this is a wonderful program. So, send my a disk, and I'll let you know if there's any news at sight. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The program was written in GFA Basic v3.6, and the GEM interface was designed in WERCS from HiSoft. The program is compiled with a patched version of the GFA Compiler Lib., to make it error free in both Program- mode and accessory mode. The RSC-file for medium resolution, was created with the help from BigColor v1.05, which is a great colour-emulator for monochrome.
