Welcome to the DEMO versions of BitMaker(c) and MegaKern(c). The enclosed
programs are fully functional, except for saving the rusulting data.

*** for MEGAKERN..........
		     KERNDEMO.PRG   Kern program to kern Pagestream .DMF fonts.
     KERN_DMF.RSC   resource file.
     KERNS.TXT      Text file containing the pairs to be kerned. This can
                    be edited with an ASCII text editor.

   The kern program for Type 1 fonts is identical in look and function to
the .DMF version so only the .DMF version is included in the demo to save
download time.  Both versions are included in the actual release program.  


*** for BITMAKER..........
     DMFHDEMO.PRG   Creates .??H screen fonts for Pagestream, compatible 
                    with versions 1.5 and up, including 2.2.
     DMF_H.RSC      Resource file.

   The program for creating .ABF screen fonts from Type 1 fonts is
identical in look and function to the .DMF version so only the .DMF
version is included in the demo to save download time.  Both versions
are included in the actual release program.  


     GDOSDEMO.PRG   Creates GDOS bitmap fonts in any resolution and point
                    size from Pagestream .DMF fonts. Only Pagestream .DMF
                    fonts are supported by the GDOS program.
                    Be sure to click on the SET DEFAULTS button and then
                    the DEFAULT button to save your default loading path
                    and default point size and resolution before
                    converting your first font.

PRICING:

Bitmaker retails for $49.95US.

MegaKern has been reduced to $49.95US as of July 27, 1992.

MegaKern "LITE" (.DMF only version) has been discontinued due to lack
of interest.

The price decrease was made after seeing the difference in sales at the
retail level and at the various Atairfests we have attended this summer.
We have enjoyed great success at the fests, in comparison to the retail 
level due mainly to the special show prices we have been offering. To 
stimulate the retail market to these same levels, without putting the
strain on the profit margin of our distributors and dealers, we have 
decreased the retail price to accomplish these objectives.

Both MegaKern 1.00 and BitMaker 1.1a are available from both your local
dealer and MegaType.
