CLOCK+ MT ========= v1.0 (C) M. J. Maisey 1993 A Freeware clock for use with MultiTOS Requirements: ------------- ST/TT/Falcon running MultiTOS. TOS 1.4 recommended. Features: --------- o Works in any resolution o Switchable digital/analogue clock o Sizeable window o Window gadgets can be switched on and off o Settings and position/size of window can be saved o Loads your settings at startup. Background: ----------- This program came about because I got really annoyed with the clock supplied with MultiTOS. Size it small and you'll see what I mean. Totally unusable. Also, while a second hand with two second update is all very well, it does cause the mouse pointer to flicker irritatingly. I then saw the clock supplied with TeraDesk, and liked the way it worked well at small sizes. Unfortunately, it is somewhat short on frills (like a sizer on the window!), so I decided to write my own, and added feat- ures like a digital clock as an alternative to the analogue face, the option to turn off window gadgets, and the ability to save the setup. Usage: ------ Double click on CLOCK.PRG. Unless you have previously altered the start settings, the clock will start up in analogue mode. The options on the menu bar are as follows: Load settings ...: Load previously saved settings. Select the des- ired .SET file in the normal way from the file selector. Save start settings: Saves the current settings into the CLOCK.SET file, which is read when Clock+ is started. Save settings as ...: Saves the current settings into a .SET file. Enter the name in the normal way with the file selector. Quit: Obvious. Analogue: Switches the clock into analogue mode. Digital: Switches the clock into digital. Window ...: Allows you to switch the window gadgets: spec- ifically the closer, title bar, fuller and sizer. You can switch any or all of them on or off. There are several preset setups supplied: ALLGDGTS.SET Analogue with all the gadgets turned on. DEFAULT.SET The one you get if you have not altered the startup. DIGITAL.SET Small digital with mover bar. TINY.SET Extremely small analogue clock with mover bar. Known problems: --------------- When used with TOS v1.2 or 1.0, if you click outside dialogue boxes (i.e. the About box, the fileselector or the Window box) the system will crash. As far as I can make out, this is a generic MultiTOS problem that affects all programs (well, it does say in the manual that TOS 1.4 is recommended ...). Further developments: --------------------- In Clock+ 2.0, I would like to have an alarm function, and the ability to set the system time by dragging the clock hands. Legal bit: ---------- Clock+ may be copied, as long as a profit is not made.
