INSTALLATION WITH SELF-EXTRACTING EXE:

If you downloaded a single file installation
executable, simply download and run the .EXE (for
example SS9732.EXE). If this is the case you have
already successfully ran the installation to read
this!

INSTALLATION WITH COMPRESSED ARCHIVE:

If you have downloaded a ZIP or ARJ or other
archive file, you need to decompress the archive
into a temporary folder and run SETUP.EXE.

INSTALLATION WITH THE SS97 DELUXE CD-ROM:

If your computer supports auto-run for CDs, all
you will need to do is insert the CD into the
CD-ROM drive and installation will automatically
begin. Otherwise, you will need to select RUN
from the START MENU, and type Z:SETUP (where Z is
the letter of your CD-ROM drive). Your CD also has
some files in the \ZIPS folder. Use these files to
upload SS97 to BBSs and the like.

INSTALLATION WITH SS97 DELUXE 3.5" FLOPPIES:

Insert the first disk in your floppy drive,
select RUN from the START MENU, and type A:SETUP,
where A is the letter of your floppy drive.

UPGRADING FROM PREVIOUS VERSIONS:

This version of SwordSearcher will not erase any
old versions (unless you change the default
installation folder). In order to use your old
note sets with this version of SwordSearcher, you
will need to manually copy them to the new folder.
Assuming that you have used the default
installation folders for both SwordSearcher97 3.2
and your previous version of SwordSearcher95 3.x,
you need to open Windows Explorer and browse to
the old folder, C:\Program Files\SwordSearcher95.
Here you must select the note sets you want to
copy or move to the new folder, C:\Program
Files\SwordSearcher97. You will recognize the name
of your note sets. Each of them is comprised of
two files, one with the extension .NMD and one
with the extension .NMI. You MUST copy BOTH files
to the new folder or major problems will occur. If
you are unsure about how to use Explorer to move
files, please consult your Windows 95
documentation.

DISTRIBUTING SWORDSEARCHER97:

SS97 is distributed as shareware. This means you
are free to make copies of the program for your
friends to evaluate, provided that you do not
alter the contents and do not pass around any
registration codes. CD-ROM venders and shareware
vendors are free to distribute SS97 in accordance
with standard shareware distribution practice.
This means that any packaging must indicate that
the software is shareware (or try-before-you-buy)
and does not give the impression that payment to
the author for continued use is unnecessary.
Venders should contact the author to acquire the
latest version of the program.

ORDERING A REGISTERED VERSION OF SS97:
(assuming you have not yet done so)

Ordering information is in the online help file
provided with SS97. Please review the online help
for this information.

REVISION HISTORY:

v3.2 (SwordSearcher97): Added Spurgeon's Morning
and Evening devotional. Note set tabs now indicate
whether or not there is a note for the verses in
the verse list and the passage window. The main
window will now restore itself to the last size
and position. The search engine and database has
been improved to facilitate searches for words
with apostrophes. A new option on the Edit|Format
settings has been added which allows the user to
select whether or not brackets should be copied in
clipboard copies. Updated ordering information for
credit card orders and CD-ROM availability.

v3.1 (SwordSearcher95): Corrected bug which
caused the program to generate a fault on
shutdown. Corrected bug which caused some searches
to lose all spacing and fail.

v3.0 (SwordSearcher95): Initial Windows 95
release.
